    Default Anyone using Love Jugs?

I have seen a lot of folks here referencing the Wards fans, but just saw Love Jugs on exhibit at Biketoberfest yesterday. They claim it is the most efficient temperature reducing device out there, and will lower the temperature on an idling HD by 100 degrees. They have a 100% money back guarantee. Anyone using these, or have any comments from experience?

I used the search and came up with nothing but references to the Wards fans... that is why I posted the question. Late note: I just bought a set at the show; I guess that I will be the guinea pig as far as reviews is concerned. I will keep things updated. I will say that with all the long traffic idling periods today, and the resulting rough engine response, I can't wait until the fans get here (they sold out at the show; will ship mine Monday AM) so that I can evaluate.

OK. So these are from the two different mfr's... I will ask again; is anyone actually using the Love Jugs fans, and if so, what is your experience?

I just shelled out $399 for these, and I am taking their 100% money back guarantee at face value. Hard to argue with a Harley being run at idle for 9 hours a day at the show without problems, but I guess we will see soon enough.

OK, so I need to learn how to use the search function more efficiently. I just put in love jugs and hit search.

Thanks for the educational replies... I am now eagerly waiting for the Cool-Master, their newest, smaller but more powerful fans, to get here so I can try them out.

This is why I ordered the Cool-Master, which are smaller and more powerful. Just trying to cool off the engine... once it heats up, it just does NOT run as well.

The quality of their fans is far better than anything out there and their customer service is tops also. Their new Cool-Master is smaller than their original design but actually moves more air. I think you'll be very pleased with their fans.

Got them yesterday; installed them this morning. Very high quality hardware, easy installation, polished stainless steel with as much shine as the chrome I have grown to love.

I will be going on a group ride tomorrow, will report back with the performance impressions. I currently have them wired directly to the battery, using the built-in switches on the fans. I have ordered the HD auxiliary switches to install on my TG, I will use one of them to control the fans once I get them installed.

Well, I got the dash accessory switch kit installed (makes for a whole lot cleaner install) and have spent the past few days evaluating. Several things I have noted:

    • You can't use the frame mount for the Love Jugs on the '14 Triglide due to the water-cooling, so you have to use the horn mount. There is noticeable vibration of the fans at idle, but thet say this is expected. According to their website, their one year warranty was if you used the frame mount, with 30 days for a horn mount installation. Evidently they now say one year either way.
    • I normally ride with my knees tight to the tank, and being short puts my left leg close to the rear fan; not covering it, but close. I have been planning to add floorboard extenders because of cat heat (I am still running stock pipes at this point), so have started to ride with feet out further, so it really is not an issue
    • The fans can actually be heard at idle. Everything that I had read about ALL the different fans available was that they could not be heard at idle even with stock pipes; they can. It is not objectionable, but they can be heard.

All that said, the fans DO work. Since installing, the engine heat is much more tolerable during extended idle and stop and go traffic. I also have not noticed any trace of rough idle/poor low speed response in traffic. Still early, but so far I am extremely pleased with them,

If you couldn't use the frame mount did you have to remove the horn? Thanks Im thinking about getting these for my 14 Tri-glide

The Love Jugs fans come with a horn mount bracket, very well made, also out of polished SS. Installation is easy, just remove the existing horn mount and replace it with the one supplied with the fans, then bolt up the fan mount and the horn. Total mechanical installation time was only about 10 minutes, with the majority of the time spent routing the wiring neatly and connecting it. If you already have an unused auxiliary switch connection, the fan harness has a Deutsch connector that will plug right in; if not, there are a number of different options. I think that you will like the performance of them, and they will definitely cool down your ride!

Lest this thread veers off topic, I should remind you that the OP's question is "Anyone using Love Jugs?" He is obviously looking for information on Love Juggs fans.

Lets keep this thread topic specific. Posts that are taken off topic serve no purpose and will be removed.

More information... after two weeks of blissfully cool operation, I was on my way home one evening, and looked down to see that the fans were hanging by the cables. The horn bracket that these mounted to snapped in half. I was sure that the vibration of the fans caused the bracket to fail. Love Jugs recommends the use of their frame mount, but for the '14 TriGlide, that is not an option due to the water-cooled heads.

I called Steve at Love Jugs; he agreed that this was a problem due to the horn mount, but since that was not possible with my installation, they had a different mount, the vibration master, that they sent me for free. It too is beautiful polished stainless steel, with quality hardware.

Unfortunately, after another week, the HD horn bracket failed again. This time when I called Steve, he found that the vibration master that was sent was an early production piece, and was missing a doubler for the bracket. He asked if I wanted another, or a refund. I chose the refund.

That said, this is top notch hardware from a first-class outfit. I have no doubt that installed on a bike with the frame mount (which is the way all that I saw installed at Biketoberfest were done) they would do the job and last forever. They cannot be mounted this way on the TriGlide with the watercooled heads, so I chose to return them. I got no arguments from either Steve or Dave at Love Jugs about the 100% refund; they just wanted to make sure that I was satisfied, and I commend them for that. These guys are great engineers, and I am sure that they will get the mount issue for the wetheads corrected. For the moment, I have to do something different.

I just wanted to pass this information along to the audience with the same hardware as me. Anyone else with a '14 have similar or different issues?

    Thanks, and ride safe!

I just installed the love jugs on a '15 TG. Haven't had a chance to try them in hot weather (Ohio in December). I noticed a lot of vibration using the standard horn mount. I received a notice they now have an extra heavy duty horn mount available for $79.00. Probably try that after the holidays. I would definitely recommend these to help cool things down. They have a high speed fan.
