Hi everyone. I am currently building a SB Chevy trike and heard about your site on a members YouTube vid response from Barbara Scott to Marty MacDonald on Martys 2011 V8 Trike vid. I checked out the site a bit and figured I should register.

I've been a professional mechanic most of my life, so maybe I can add a bit to the discussions and not JUST comic relief.

Looking forward to riding before June 5 2015. That's my deadline for the build.

Thanks Guys. I do have pics, but mostly of trying to get things organized and arranged for before-snow-flies. I got a 10x20 tent to work in so, hopefully, I can continue working through the winter. I will post pics and start a build thread once I get the frame in place and major components together, probably December-ish.

on that tent you got, whats the brand name and does it hold up under snow ok. I need one but am worried about how it will do under winter conditions.

Hey Jonsey, I bought the cheapest tent I could find. It is a Sunjoy, 3 canopies in 1, 10x20. I just got it about 3 weeks ago and a few things need to be noted.

The Cons
The corners aren't very secure on the frame or windproof. There are no string anchor points on or in the tent.

The Pros
The fabric seem sturdy. The zippers work well and trouble free. The frame has spring loaded studs for easy set up. It IS rainproof after a week of hard rains. I only paid $150.

I have ratchet strapped the frame to some of the heavier objects inside and it seems OK. Dog lead screw in stakes are on the menu, maybe today. I'm thinking some strategically placed duct tape will help with the corners.

I had bought an instant garage from a company in New Haven, they did a lot of the salt sheds for the State of Ct back then and I used it over a hot tub at first and then later as a storage shed. The one I had was shaped like a house but they also had the round Quonset hut type which I think is better. The original fabric was translucent so it could be used as a greenhouse, it cracked in a lot of places and it was replaced under warranty but I went for a heavier fabric.

I bought it around 2000 and used it up until just a few years ago. I didn't get the snow off after we got several back to back storms and the frame finally gave out. I think the round shape would be better for snow load. The company is now in Watertown,Ct and goes by Shelter Logic.

I wouldn't waste your money on a cheap one if your going this way....

I just had one made 12x20x8 . ( special order) Shelter Logic. Should have it next week. 9 oz fabric. ( standard on the garage in a box is 7oz ) got 1 5/8. Tube frame ( standard is 1 3/8. ) got it with front and rear doors. $600. I am picking it up on Wed. If u have it delivered they charge $148.00
here is we're u can design an design your own. U can call and talk to them they are really patient helping you get what you want. I bought the round top. They said it sheds snow better.
