Rear Brakes

I have an 06 GL1800 with a Roadsmith conversion and am having a hard time finding rear brake pads for it. I went to the Trike Shop in Daytona and they sold me a set, when I tried to put them on the spring clips wouldn't fit. I checked them against the ones I pulled off and found they were different. I called The Trike Shop on a Saturday and wanted to exchange them and they said they didn't have the other ones I needed. They told me to check local and see if I could find them. The parts people said they needed the year and model to look them up, when I mentioned I had a trike they looked baffled. Can anyone help. The Trike Shop told me a type 3 VW 69 to 72 front pad is what I need. I'm still looking. HELP

Did the parts house not have the VW pad with the info RS gave you?

Either order the EBC Yellowstuff pads (DP4105R) from Roadsmith or carry the old pads to the parts house and try to match it.

Unless you are on a very tight budget, do NOT go with standard pads, which probably will last 40K+.<br />

Go with the ECB DP4105R. I put them on 7 days ago, and have about 500 miles on them. Just got back from 230 miles in the mountains, and today was the VERY FIRST time I was able to skid my rear tires. The "Yellow Stuff" pads are far superior to stock pads. Here is a couple threads to read.<br />

Do NOT ask Roadsmith for them. What they are selling now is ECB DP 105-OE.<br />

</div>Roadsmith ONLY sells DP 105-OE. They used to sell the yellowstuff pads, but don't carry them anymore.

And there ya go....from someone that knows.... its EBC not ECB .... those would really be hard to find....<br />

DP-4105R EBC Yellowstuff Pads..... fits Roadsmith and some Champion that use Dual Piston VW - Porsche Calipers.... Just FYI<br />

Another Point don't loose the two little clips on each pin that hold the pads in.....Takes maybe 20 minutes each side..... once its in the air and wheel off!!

You mean, if you don't put in the little pins on the pad retainer pins, the brake pads literately fall off in 400 or 500 miles. I know, I did it a few weeks. That is why I was able to put in the yellowtuff pads.
