I have some minor surface scratches on the front fairing. What is the best product to remove these scratches without causing additional damage.

I been using Mequires polish for minor scratches etc..
I thought I was the only one to use Honda spray wax. I carry it on my long trips. I love the stuff. I tried Harleys spray wax thinking it was basically the same just in a different can, but oh noooo, it seems to take forever to buff it out for some reason - it's almost gummy. I tried a new can since the can I had was a little old and it's the same thing. I hate the stuff.
You can try Novus windshield polish #1 or even #2
Good luck
( Scratch off ) found in auto shops works good.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

1st of all if you use anything to remove some scratches. You have to do the whole area. You can use a number of things to do this. Hell even tooth paste will work. Seriously it does work ! On your faring you can use a clay bar and and the spray it comes with. If that doesn't work try polishing compound " the white stuff" NOT the red one. Go over lightly and keep it damp. But you have to do the whole faring. You can use that bar on your whole bike. Make sure its clean to start. OR your going to put more marks on it. Also No matter what you use Keep it damp. Then wipe off the the excess with a clean wet micro fiber rag or towel. Then you must wax it. But like I said if the clay Bar doesn't do the trick. Try some toothpaste of the area. Its real fine grit in it and almost harmless. Do not just rub on one area do the whole faring. Wipe off and WAX. I do my 20012 truck once a every other month with a clay bar. once a yr with polishing compound. I've used toothpaste a # of times on everything from Bikes to Classic cars if they have a minor scratch.
Rub all you want, but be careful to not rub through the clear coat !
Polishing compounds are abrasive abet very fine made to polish, but used in excess can go through the clear coat.

Depending on the depth of the scratches, Novus should work well. I use it for the final polish-out on the guitars I build. It's great stuff.

You know it's gotta work- it's made for windshields.
#1 cleaner or #2 for fine scratches
#3 is for heavy scratches.
Be careful don't rub too much.
I had a GPS cable that rubbed on the gas tank for a few miles and now there is a dull spot there - not real noticeable just dull looking close up.
Personally, I just leave them alone....unless they're real bad.
Novus no.2 works very well and is similar to Meguiars crystal polish. I would try a fine polish Like Meguiars Crstal polish or Novus before using an automotive polishing or rubbing compound.
Thanks all!
Good old Simonize WAX works great for minor scratches and has for decades.
