What do you gentlemen do with your leftover parts when you tike your bike?
Post on Craigslist, E-bay ?

how about a ladies opinion?
some parts you can sell, others you are stuck with.
there are so many saddlebags available people are giving them away and they still don't sell because there are so many available but no one needs them.
goodluck
I sold all of my take-offs through Ebay. I got $500 for the saddlebags, alone. I ended up with a nice wad of cash for things which were just taking up space in the garage.

A guy in Ohio trashed his final drive and was looking for one on the GL 1800 site, by the time I contacted him he found one, but he found he needed a driveshaft, I sold him mine for $85+shipping (that is what he offered me and I took it). I'm going to make a tagalong from the saddlebags and I may be stuck with the rest of the parts.
Harley saddle bags are easy to sell.
No so easy with Goldwings though.

We're talking Wings here, not the few HD's triked. There have been so many Wings triked, my local installer is trashing most of the "plastic".
Now the rear ends w/brake and the rear shock w/the pump and the rear wheel can be sold. Mine all went quickly on E-bay!
There is, occasionally, a need for a certain color saddle bag door. Might keep those stored for that special request!

The installer that did mine had a mountain of GL1800 saddlebags outside his shop. A friend of mine bought one from him for $30. You may want to try to sell the rear drive and wheel if low mileage. I didn't want to be bothered and took nothing home.

Not sure if I have free time or I just forgot everything I was suppose to do.
Retired and highly recommend it.
Thanks shimpy, this is the route I'm thinking.
I really don't need more parts laying around in my garage or basement.
Actually this is one reason it's taking me so long to decide to trike my 2012 Goldwing.
Just can imagine what those throw-a-way parts cost on the retail level...............$$$$$$$$$
Aren't the bags for the 2012 different from the previous 1800s?If so are they as plentiful used as the others?

I sold all my parts to one guy for $100 just to get rid of them.
I sold wheels, front fender, triple tree, final drive, bag guards and bags for $1000 clear. Will buy some nice accessories. I posted them on classified ad section of the GL1800Riders Forum. Hope this helps. Ride Safe. Doc
Me Id save only the rear drive components.
They have some value in the used market.
Rear wheels and tire if newish bout 200$ alone on some sites.
The air shock is convertible to use on a lot of 2 wheelers.
Anyone have one laying around?? Free of course........
Id love to put it on my RoadStar.
My trike conversion guy said he has a lot of parts off 1800's and Harley's and takes them to flee markets.
The Harley parts sell out the first day and the Goldwing parts he hauls back home.
last month I sold all my parts from my triked 2013 for 1225.00. You guys are forgetting that the only people that now about all these parts are the ones on these sights. The more you advertise on here the less you are going to get for your parts.
I've been looking for a shock, spring, etc. from a 1800. Willing to pay a fair price.
