Great article. I've taken up "Threedom" due to a motorcycle accident that has temporarily taken away my mobility. Ill be back on two in a few. It would be a shame to buy a new Harley-Davidson and drop it, or even worse hurt myself or someone else.
My newspaper has an article this a.m. about trikes on page 2 from the Associated Press out of L.A.!
The headline is Bikers Keep on Trikin'!
We have made it to the mainstream!

Good article. It appeared on Page 3 of the "Lifestyle" section of my Sunday newspaper.
Great article, although a little short on mentioning the hundreds of business doing trike kits and conversions for a living, but all in all very good!
I did not know that California did not require an M/C endorsement to ride a trike!

"Beer is Proof that God loves us and wants us to have a good time."
It is a good article, and was also in our local paper this weekend. The only thing I wish is that it didn't focus so strongly on those who choose to ride a trike solely for physical impairment reasons. It would have been nice to also clearly state that many of us do it just because we love it and appreciate the stability, etc., it offers, despite our good health and ability to ride two wheels quite well.

Unfortunatly we did not know the full content of the story before they published it.... Otherwise we would have tried to make it not appear as if we are all old and decrepit
The AP reporter interviewed 1/2 dozen members of the San Diego chapter of the Brothers of the Third Wheel as well as some from the LA area.
A few weeks ago we took an AP Photographer on a ride up into the mountains with us, he spent the better part of the day and shot hundreds of photos [of which it seems only 6 were used in any of the stories on line]
Hello DaveS....Welcome to TrikeTalk! We won't hold you responsible for the article, I promise .
Actually, I thought it was excellent (despite the above-mentioned omission), and brought a wonderfully positive focus to our segment of the motorcycle population!

The two purple trikes in one of the photos..... that's my wife and myself....
Scottie [the wife] is the one responsible for coordinating all of the interviews and the photographer....
All the photos are of San Diego Chapter members
So far this has been on 36,000 news websites..... hundreds of printed newspapers, and has been responsible for at least a dozen new members to the BTW in just the past two days....
So yes the response is a VERY positive thing
Ultraboy ... Nevada does not require a M/C endorsement either. :yay:

And on the 8th day, God created CHROME. :putergreet:
Georgia says you can be mental and still operate a Trike.
I agree with you Nana, it ran in our local paper yesterdat and all I heard today was if I was in the category of disabled or elderly, I mentioned to the wife that it would have been nice to have it mentioned that many people now ride Trikes by choice, also list Mfgs. to contact & they could direct people to the dealers..........
Today I sent a letter to the writer at her AP office thanking her for bringing triking to the public attention in such a positive way, but did explain that many of us ride trikes purely for the joy of it. I invited her to visit us at TrikeTalk.com and see for herself what a wide variety of trikes there are, and an equal variety of riders who enjoy them!

While I appreciate the fact that trikes are getting out in the public more,,,, I did not realize that I was in such bad shape... and the whole time we are riding the trike I though that people were looking at the beautiful trike,,, now I see they are saying hey mom and dad look at that old worn out man and his daughter on that trike
Gotta go call my Doctor

I think they were just showing one perspective of triking. We all have our reasons for THREEDOM. I like what we all have in common not what our differences are. That's one of my reasons for participating here.
