I'm on my third trike, a 2008 GL1800/RoadSmith and have a couple more on my bucket list, a Stallion and a Spyder RT. I would like to hear from owners of both. I'm very happy with my RoadSmith but will allow someone to adopt it at a fair price. If seriously interested send me a PM or email for details. It is a 2008 and is loaded and pristine.

If you own a Spyder RT, I would love to read your impressions. I test rode one and was impressed.

I have a 2010 Spyder RTS, I have nearly 4,000 miles on the bike and it is a blast to ride.
This bike is the most stable ride I have ever owned, storage is great The bike has air ride, no problems riding for hours. Biggest problem you would have is answering all the questions when you stop for gas.
Sad to say I'm selling mine, Wanting a custom bike and this one has to go before i can get one
If you get a chance test ride one they are a blast to ride

George, Love our Stallion !!! We had 3 for the April rally last year and just maybe we will get more there this year. See you in a few weeks.

Ben.... I am still holding my Hannigan K1200LT for you.... still got the same miles and everything is the same as it has been... still in prestine shape as it has done nothing but get pampered....
When / where is the trike rally going to be here in Texas...

We're heading up a convoy of trikes going to Maggie Valley (God willing, the creek don't rise and the macaroni crop don't fail . . . ) on June 21st - so far we have about five trikes from the Central Texas area - join us!!

OK, I'm a fellow 'bucket lister' and just last week got to check off owning a Stallion. I can only say it is a blast to drive, but you need to be ready to allow lots of time at gas stations and restaurants. I've decided there is no way to look cool trying to get in or out of it (maybe there's a method that I haven't read about in here), and I don't think I will be jumping in like we used to do convertible autos, but then again who cares?

Good luck on your list!!

Loner there is a technique. My wife has been using for 3 years. From the left side, right foot on the step pad, left foot into the left footwell, right foot over the seat into the right foot well. Then sit. Reverse to exit. Works well for her and she has weak knees.

Thanks, Gorilla, I'll try it in the privacy of my garage (wouldn't be right to end up facing backwards with a mismove when out in public).

Ben, Don't trade 1800 trike for Stallion. I had an 05 Champion trike, traded it for 09 Stallion. Yep, it was unique alright and an attention getter, but that wears thin when it breaks down everytime I left home. Too many issues to list here. I ended up trading it in on an 09 1800 Champion IRS trike (at a great finincal loss). Am happy now.

Oh baby, I am absolutely captivated by the Spyders, and would love to get a chance to test-ride one. Maybe this spring....

I can't say I have near as good an impression of the Spyder RT-S as the other posters here. I'm pretty sure that I got a "lemon". After reflecting on my time with the RT-S (owned it one year and rode it 16K miles) I think it might make a good trike for someone who hasn't spent much time on two wheels, or three for that matter. Even if it hadn't been a lemon I don't think I'd of kept it.

A little history, I've ridden pretty close to 300K on two and 3 wheel motorcycles. I spent a few years racing flat track motorcycles and and in 1980 I was the AMA amatuer national champion in the 500cc dirt track sidecar class. I'm not braggin, I just want you to understand me when I say the Spyder never handled well enough to suit me. It may be entirely ok for most people, but if you are an aggresive rider and value the ability to exceed the posted speed for corners, it may not be for you. It had a few great things going for it, I absolutely loved the electric adjustable windshield, and the heated hand grips for rider and passenger was wonderfull. On the down side the auto adjust air ride was a constant source of warranty work and it was equipped with some of the worst shock absorbers I've ever experienced.

BRP is notorius for it problems with electronic controls and the Spyder is a prime example of overkill in regulation and continuing warranty problems with those electronic controls. A little harsh?

Maybe so. I loved the idea and they are without a doubt one of the "coolest" looking rides available. I expected to keep it for two years and sell it before the warranty ran out. I just couldn't bring myself to do that, and after riding the 2011 model I knew it had to go.

Comments and questions welcome.

Thanks. If you think a Stallion draws a crowd, you should see a Grinnall Scorpion 111! It is also a bit of a chore to get in and out of. <g>

I must say that I now have my second spyder. The first one was a 2008 RS. Had it for one year and put 23,000 mile on it. Loved it and had no problems at all.

Traded it in for my 2010 RT. Have had it for 13 months now and have 24,000 plus miles.

Only issue I have had is the DPS and front end alignment. BRP has responded to these issues and my dealer has responded in kind.

For a relatively new unit to the market I feel BRP has handled any issues well.
