Speed bumper scraping tip of muffler

Anyone having problem going over speed bumps and scraping the tips of the mufflers? Or even backing up against a curb. I try to avoid them like the plague, but sometime you do not have a choice. Any ideas on how to fix this problem. Will increasing the air pressure in the air shock help lift the rear of the trike?

If you search this site there are 2 different lift kits that will lift the rear end about 1.6 in.

I put on Tglide stuff [Dennis] 1 And 1/4 inch lift and I haven't scraped a tail pipe in 3 years'

I don't go up or down driveways, or over speed bumps perpendicular (90*). Always go up and down or over at an angle. Many years driving a lowered Porsche taught me this. Backing into a curb or parking stop, well that is just a matter of paying attention.

Or, you can spend the bucks and raise the rear, just be careful of high speed bumps or really steep driveways.

Roxy has the tglidestuf shock lifts .... and no issues. I would not own a Harley Tri Glide without them. Bob

I don't feel the need for the lift kit so far but did see a Tri with them on it...must say I liked the look so I plan on a set from Dennis ...

+2 on the lift kit from Dennis after scraping the stock pipes the first trip after purchase of the trike. Lift Kit went on right after that trip at the same time we put the Rush Big Louie's. 17,000 miles now and never scraped the larger diameter pipes.

V&H exhaust has the Mufflers for Triglides. Don't know if they do for GW's.
Had no need for a lift with the V&H mufflers................

I installed the Vance and Hines Monster Deluxe slip-ons, which are designed for the TG and the comfort lifts. This combo gives me plenty of clearance for my TG.. GW ???? 8~\o

The lifts do more than just give extra lift for the mufflers.
Because you need to lift the rear up to clear things, the lifts let you carry the Trike at the elevated height at a lower pressure in the shocks. This will give you a softer ride. Also the steering changes slightly in your favor with the lifts.

Have to agree with that. Ever since I installed the lift kit on my 2012 and now my 2014, I can go around corners a lot faster and make sharper turns.

And I can ride through higher snow now..............just kidding on that.
