Is is just me or do you not even slow down when you see that dam white sticker on the fuel pump that states that gas sold from that pump contains ethonol? In NC, we have a choice of selecting a gas cut with ethonol, and I just can't do it. It is such a waste of money to use a fuel sorce that some say takes more calories of energy to make then it produces. I hear it makes your engine dirty, and the facts just are laughable when you see them all laid out in black in white.

What do you guys think? I am not a tree hugger or anything, but I just hate to see so much waste when I have the choice to avoid it.:no:

Remember that this junk fuel will also lean out further your mixture even if you have re calibrated your injection or carbs. I firmly believe that under load vibration is very often caused by too lean settings . Especially noticeable on Trikes due to the extra loading.

No choice in Missouri - all gas is up to 10% ethonol by law. Not sure what the law is in Arkansas, but all of the pumps I've seen have the up to 10% corn sticker. When we go up north, Iowa (a corn state is there ever was one) gives a choice at the pump, but the ethanol can be up to 20¢ less than unadulterated unleaded. Minnesota is 10% alcohol, but once in a while, especially away from metro areas, you can find non-ethonol gas for farm equipment and vintage vehicles.

There are less BTU's in alcohol, so that means a drop in mileage, which means a drop in weight of the wallet, and ethanol can play havoc on older engines, ruining seals and such. It is also more hygroscopic, so it is more important to use a gas stabilizer when storing the trike.

Same here in the Florida Keys. Your modern engine is designed for it, but I would like the choice myself.

Here in Soutern NV, we get the 10% stuff through the winter months & good stuff during summer months -- heat boils the booze off in the summer. However, we're also starting to see pumps with "E85" --85% corn. So far, HD has not authorised E85 & I doubt Stalion has either. Remember OCC made a big deal about building the "First Alcohol burner" for what it's worth. Our cage is "flexible fuel" compatable, but what they don't tell us is on E85 the oil changes MUST be at 3,000 mi instead of 5,000, periodic inspections of rubber parts in the fuel system are manditory, & fuel mileage will decrease by 20 - 40%. The BIGGEST problem I have with E85 is it takes 1 gal of diesel for a farmer to grow enough corn to make 1 gal of alcohol -- what are we gaining?? They're working on higher yeald corn to offset this, but still, it just a trade off of poluting the farming areas or poluting cities & no real gain over all.
