Marc - thanks for the reply. I was thinking if I had the correct sizes, I could buy it from your store, and have it shipped. (Sometimes we just get desperate enough for good service here in Miami that we will do really weird things!) I will try and find the product locally. Watching lots of YouTube videos to figure it out. And Rosy, unfortunately, I have, after many years, yet to find a great mechanic to work on my cars. Good, but not great. Went to several "brake" specialists, but they couldn't help me. Thanks all. Will update as the project moves on.

That's really sad, no real good mechanics you can trust.
The two parts stores web page said they carry Polyarmor.
    Good luck..

Yes, it is sad. That's why we try and do so much ourselves. Takes all day to do one little job, but at lease we know it is done correct. Cost is not the issue. Will try Auto Zone tomorrow. Thanks.

You are a better person than I am McGee, I gave up working on any of my vehicles, because of, specialty tools, electronic tools needed, Time, a good step by step manual, or tricks of the trade they don't tell you about.
I hope everything works out for you. Good Luck tomorrow!
Are you coming up for the Snowbird Gathering in February, for maybe just a day?

We don't usually ship out but if you can get the correct measurements I will see what I can do.The come in 8,12,20,30,40,51,and 60 inch lengths.I'm guessing you have 10mmx1.0 thread but obviously you should verify that. With that info I can get our part# and go from there. To me the easy way is to do a search for those part #s at your local store online and reserve them but if its a no go that way I can ship.My main concern is it getting folded to the point of kinking in transit but i'm game to try to help you out.
Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Update: we found and purchased a Polyarmor 41" brake line with a bubble flare on each end at Napa (thanks Gorilla). The original line was 42", but the 41" worked just fine. Just had to make the bends a little tighter. No splicing, cutting, etc. It was easier getting it in than out. Tomorrow we bleed the brakes and hopefully get out and ride some. Weather to be in the low 80's. Sorry - just had to throw that in... Thanks all for your help and suggestions.

Wonderful news! Always happy to hear good results to projects.
Good luck on bleeding the brake lines, on some trikes it can be tricky!

Beenthere, ease up. If you read this thread you will see that Rosey relies on machanics as he stated he gave up working on his own stuff. I believe he stated that he felt sorry for Judy for not being able to find one she can trust. I don't think the asshole comment was nessessary or wanted on this board.

Thank you cavie. You are correct, I feel sorry for Judge Judy not having a mechanic she can trust.
As for mechanics, you have some that are great, you have some that do the work, and you have others, like I had this summer, who break items on the trike and tell you it was your fault, to the tune of $500, when you know it wasn't and you have no way to prove it.
I look at this way, prove yourself to me as a mechanic and you will have me as a customer for life, not, see you later. I think that is fair!

Well, bleeding the brakes was a bear. We couldn't figure out why we couldn't get the air out of the line. So, (why didn't I think of this sooner!) I looked in the repair manual. My VTX 1300 MotorTrike has drum brakes in the rear, but the VTX 1800 Champion has ... Hydraulic brakes! Of course. Hmmmm. Two bleed valves on each caliper. So what does the 1800VTX manual say about bleeding the hydraulic lines? Bleed from the top valve.

    So we did.

And in about a minute, we had all the air out of the line.

Project done. $10 and the satisfaction of doing it yourself (well, almost...). Thanks everyone for your input and suggestions.

As an aside, the trike has one of those fancy "chrome" rear master cylinder covers. GET RID OF IT IF YOU HAVE IT! Or, at least check it for flaking. Every time you take it off you risk little pieces falling into the fluid, and therefore, into the system. Not a good idea. Safe riding everyone!
