I have an '011 HD Tri Glide.
As posted in another thread I have Progressive 440 mounted upside down (approved by progressive). I have 3 turns of preload on them. I usually I solo with full storage areas. Might preload 4 turns if you ride 2 up all the time. You can always change it. The shocks do a great job. I have a 13 TRI-Glide. By the way these are NOT air shocks.

You can't go wrong with progressive shocks.... I have the air shocks but are alot better than the stock hd shocks. No bottoming out. Especially in michigan where the roads are the worst...

Yep....Progressives are really great shocks.....I've had 440s, and 412s over the years on various Cruiser type Bikes....I've ran a lot of Ohlins (extremely pricey, but maybe the ultimates) on some Sport Bikes.....Hagon out of England makes a great shock also. They have made me two sets of "one off specials" for a couple of Mitzie's (Wife) Bikes.....dollar for dollar, bang for buck, hard to beat Progressives.....

I replaced my air shocks with Progressive 444's mounted upside down and couldn't be happier. 3 turns cause most times I ride with a passenger. By yourself it's rough. Good bang for the bucks.

I have been looking at the Progressive 416 air shocks. Not sure when I am going to do these surely not before Spring at this rate.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I have what maybe a silly question, why are your Progressive shocks installed upside down?
If you mount them right side up you can not get to the preload ring very easily to re-adjust it if necessary. Up side down the adjuster ring is at the bottom. In the provided mounting instructions they state mounting upside down is an acceptable alternative. I would bet just for that reason.

Ditto to Gorilla's response. Jack it up ever so slightly and adjustment is a breeze.

mystery designs has a progressive air shock that is made for their trike kits. Different spring rate. A lot of folks like them on their 2 wheeler.
