We don't need no stinkin translator, we all speak fluent Finnish!

I'm kidding, I'm kidding! Really, how many people know Finnish, other than those that live in Finland?
English is nearly a foreign language for me. The only other language I know a little bit of is Vietnamese and that's only a little bit of curse words and such.

My dad grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, in Hancock. At that time Finnish was almost universally spoken up there, also a lot in northern Minnesota. We spoke some Finn in our family in my youth, but it has been so many years I have lost most of the language. (For some reason I remember almost all the swear words and curses.) Besides that, we had American Finnish - a lot of archaic language, old fashioned pronunciations and some english words made to sound Finnish.
Anywho...hope everyone had a good Christmas and here's to a great New Year!
