Just finished installing my Color Matched fairing and Dakota Digital Gauges oh yeah and a Kuryakyn chrome dash cover. I also added the two Harley auxiliary switches to the dash panel (by the ignition knob).

Not bad at all...I was worried about the blue against the red background...I am still waiting for someone to do them in red...I really like the painted inner...it is on my list when the front end gets made over...

I took a little time to choose the blue LED's. I went on line and downloaded a photo of a red fairing with the blue and one with the red and posted a poll on facebook and was surprised with the results. Overwhelmingly the people picked Blue. I always liked the blue but I was leaning toward red until I seen the results. I am glad I chose the blue, I think the contrast is really nice. I had a few concerns about the red. One was I heard the sun would wash out the red quicker than the blue, another was there would be too much red and the last if the red was a wrong shade of red it could clash with the inner fairing color. I had a 2012 Road Glide that was black and I changed all the lights to blue and I really liked it. After seeing the blue on my trike with the color of the fairing I really like it. It's kind of patriotic. Instead of Red, white and blue, I have Red, Chrome and Blue.

Now I am in the process of setting the tach and pressure warnings on these gauges. I am trying to find out at what oil pressure would the factory low pressure light come on. I would like to set the gauge warning the same. I also have a email in to Dakota to find out if my Trike factory oil pressure sensor will still trigger the low pressure warning light or is the Dakota warning separate from the factory.
I also added a air pressure sensor for the rear shocks so now I have a digital PSI readout in an area just below the tach. Now I would like to add an onboard air system that way I could raise or lower the pressure while riding.

Here are a few photos of removing the inner fairing. I followed the Harley service manual to remove the inner fairing but after removing it and then talking to a friend he told me I did not need to remove everything and showed me what he leaves on the bike. That photo is shown here. If I decide to write up a how to project I have many more detailed pics with arrows showing what needs to be removed.

Local dealer in Harrisburg , PA is running special for repainting inner fairing .
they look great. I received mine two days ago. how difficult is the install?
i'm pretty handy so i don't thinkit will be a big deal. anything that i should be on the lookout for?
can't wait to get them in.
thanks
I know this is an older thread, but I have been thinking about switching gauges on my 2015 TG because the stock gauges are not very bright. I have a friend who has a 2013 Ultra Limited 2 wheeler and his gauges are MUCH brighter and much easier to read at night than mine are.
How do you like the Dakota Digital gauges. Are the easy to read in the daytime and in bright sunlight?
"HOW we ride today, may determine IF we can ride tomorrow"
I absolutely love these gauges. When the sun is directly behind me shinning directly on the gauges I can still see the digital readout with no problem. Also like adding the air pressure sensor so I can monitor shock air pressure continuously. I would not hesitate to do this again!

Trike has been in storage since November I can't remember but it seems it was like factory. If you call them they can tell you. Their tech support is superb.
