What are you wearing for glasses while riding?

Up until last year I wore contact lenses, so I always rode with a nice pair of Oakley sunglasses. Now that age is creeping in, I'm finding I need to have reading glasses for up close which is a PIA . I recently switched back to glasses with a progressive bi-focal which is working out great for inside, but clip on sunglasses are not that great. I'm thinking about biting the bullet and getting some nice prescriptions riding glasses made.[/QUOTfE]


Have you considered staying with contacts?

I wore glasses for about 20 years, starting out with reading glasses, them progressing to progressives for reading and distance. About 18 months ago, I switched to contacts for the first time in my life. The right eye has one for reading, the left for distance. They work perfectly for me. Although it took a month or so for my brain to fully adapt.

With these, I can wear any sunglass I want. I use some really cheap ones from Harbor Freight that were recommended on Goldwing Facts Forum.

The disposable soft contacts available these days are great. Thin, comfortable, barely there, work great, and cheap. I have been wearing contacts for 45 years. I leave them in 24 hours a day and throw 'em away and put in a new set every 30 days. I also have a similar prescription.. Right for distance, left for close. In low light conditions I need reading glasses, but they are 20.00 at Walgreens. Very seldom do I need to use them. Of course, everyone's eyes are different. On the road, I wear Jake polarized shades made for motorcycle riding . HD dealer here sells these, 150.00, and they are great. I keep a pair of yellow lens el cheapo shades to wear at night if needed, in the tourpac.
