cylinder heads

So, heading down the road this weekend and spit out a spark plug. When I limped it home (loudly) I realized the spark plug had been previously repaired. Time sert blew out with the plug. I had thought about using an oversized timesert but considering the kit is as much as a head, that seems like a waste of money on a fix that might also fail.*
Decided to do new heads. I have a 1915 with a scat 35 cam, center mounted weber 32/36 progressiv. My original heads were 040 s with a port and polish job. Performance was ok.
Have been looking around at heads. Thought about the mofoco pro street 040 (699 a pair) or possibly moving to a pair with larger valves like the 40/35.5 combination. A few of these on ebay, but not name brand so im not sure about those. Any suggestions?

45000. Otherwise a nice dependable smooth strong motor. I'm thinking dad may have used a time sert early on after crossthreading a spark plug.*

I decided against using the oversize timesert because I travel on this trike and don't want to be in east bumble Arizona next time it fails. Rather replace the heads. I looked at empi but found a lot of reports of problems with valve seats and guides. Anyone else here use mofoco *foe heads?

Wish I could help you out but haven't done any engine work . I have purchased from Mofoco and have no complaints with service .

I seen on Facebook a few different options were offered to you guess that wasn't to good ,,,good luck with it .

With 45,000 miles on it you will probably have to put new rings in. New heads and old rings hardly ever work out. If the old heads worked for that many miles, I would stick with it. Iv heard mixed reviews on Mofoco's stuff.

I would love to stick with the original heads. Rock solid engine I have taken on long trips with nary a problem. The one head Would require a tripple oversize time sert now which is too tight on space between it and the valves. Have to replace at least one head.
the 040 heads have done well. Plenty of power and smooth as can be with high 20s to low 30s on fuel mileage. I have no problems going back to 040 heads. What I'm wondering here is sources for heads. I had an offer of a set of larger valve empi heads for a little under 600 but have heard negative reports about valve seats and guides on them.
I've read good and bad reports on the mofoco heads. The super street 040 heads are closest to what I have now. I've been reading up on the samba for information about which valve size to go with. The consensus (from what I can tell ) is to stick with stock size cut for 94 mm cylinders.*
I'm not looking to up power, just get the same reliability and performance I've been use to.*

some good advice. A lot of people staying the same thing over and over... "put in a helicoil" lol. Must not have read the original description.*
The shop that offered the price on the 40mm empi had a decent price but the more I read the more unsure I am about going up in valve size.
