I have yet to be able to ride my FLRT. But I have already been able to notice some needed changes over my First Generation 2009 Tri-Glide. Keep in mind that all of my comparisons are coming from 60,000 miles on a Tri Glide.
Clutch. Never thought that the 09 clutch was any problem. But this new hydraulic clutch is light. And finding Neutral. That was a PITA in the past on new bikes (and some old). Not now. Real easy. First time, every time.
Reverse. HOLY COW! Significantly more powerful than the one on my TG. No idea what they did different but I do not believe I will have to be pushed up the ramp of my trailer now.
Parking break. My opinion of the p break on my 09 was that it there in name only. Only thing it seemed to do was wear out the rear pads faster than one would expect. I applied the break on my new FLRT and was unable to move the trike forward (did not try and give it more throttle than one would normally use ).
With the Sundowner the 20" windshield is just about perfect (might remove an inch after I have a few hundred miles on it.). Also immediately noticed the fact that I sat allot different on it as compared to the TG. More of a straight up position which for me is better.
I look forward to getting this on the road in five weeks. Already know that the front end will feel allot lighter with out the Batwing. I expect the breaking to be a big improvement as well as the larger forks and triple trees. I expect the ride to be similar.
