For the amount of money these trikes cost you'd think heated hand grips would be standard equipment
What gives?
They are stock standard equipment on my 2012 Ultra Limited.
Jeez Louise!

Why would Harley-Davidson give away the heated grips for free. When they can get people like ME to pay for them and happy to do so, just like the CB radio option.
I guess I figured that a top of the line bike would have a few more bells and whistles as standard. It's not like I'm looking for an espresso machine!( They are standard on Gold Wings, right? ) Heated grips were standard on my Ultra so I assumed they'd be on the Tri-Glide. I will of course order them. XM radio with weather and traffic too. I have no use for a CB. Very limited range and only one band (11 meters). I would rather hook up a mobile or portable amateur (ham) radio instead.
I will probably go with Heat Demons instead of HD.
I would have to ask this question about "all the bells and whistles"...if Harley offered a CVO Tri Glide how many would pay the upwards of $50 k to get all the extras plus the 110 ci...
I look at it like this...with all the extras I add to make the one I have my own and all the chrome I add I would want the first red one I could get my hands on...

Have had heated grips on 3 different bikes and my opinion not worth it at any price. All you're doing is heating your gloves. Best option is a good set of heated gloves. Don't want to go to the hassle of wiring in a plug, get the battery powered ones.

You know if you take a 35 Thousand dollar Trike then you start adding 50 dollars here and a 100 dollars there, Before you know it if you don't stop' ''It'' becomes serious money...

I'll almost bet given time a TG Limited and TG CVO will be added to the line.
As for me ... I like paying a little less and making changes to make it mine and unique. I love that I own the only Hot White and Hot Blue in town. But if another one comes in ... Mine will always be unique.
I liked the heated grips on my BMW K1200LT, but as Texan said... You can always buy heated gloves. OR just go to Cabella's or Scheel's and buy the little chemical heat paks that you can drop down inside your gloves. What I'm REALLY going to miss is the heated seats!

The MOCO has you fixed up . Lots of heated seats options. Just another 5 or 6oo dollars.
I still am pissed about the heated grips.

Just beginning our ride together
After installing heated grips on bikes and trading them, I finally purchased heated gloves that have batteries and run off the bike ... I use the batteries for shorter rides, around town and stuff ... plug them in on longer trips ... I'll never go back to heated grips the gloves are much warmer
