I have a 2005 Ultra Classic/Lehman with 40,000 miles on it. I have the Ultra Cool oil cooler with two fans and a Harley parade fan. Have had nothing but trouble with the parade fan so I am going to replace it. What do you guys think is the best system out there. I have been looking at the Wards Parts Werks system. Thanks in advance for your input.

+1 on the Wards fans. I had tried the Love Jugs fans, and they worked great, but due to the mounting issues with the water-cooled 103 on the '14 TriGlide, had to go elsewhere. The Wards fans have doe all they say they would. Happy!

Thanks, how noisy are they, I guess with the bike running not a problem. They say on their site that once they turn on with the thermo switch they stay on until you shut down the bike and have a cool down cycle. So they don't come on and off with the thermo switch? You need the fans on a 14 even with the water cooled heads? That surprises me.

First, you can hear them with the engine at idle, just barely, but I have stock mufflers.

My friend hooked his up (on his '12 TG) with the thermo switch, to the battery, and they do stay on until after you shut down the bike and provide a cool down cycle. They do cycle on and off with the thermo switch, but it didn't seem to make that much difference (only stayed on for about 10 seconds after killing the motor), so we both hooked them up and turn them on when we start and off when we stop.

On a 14, even with the water cooled heads, the engine runs very hot in summer and especially stop and go traffic. The fans make a very noticeable difference!

A++ on Wards fans and Jason Ward for customer service.. I run both the Jagg 10 row fan assist oil cooler and Wards fans. All the way to Sturgis and back this last year, running full out, never saw the north side of 185*. Utilized an IR heat gun on the oil pan periodically during stops just for curiosity sake and the oil temp gauge was right on. Put my Wards temp sensor on the right side of the rear cylinder and the fans seem to run a little longer, about 10 minutes after I shut down the motor. 8~\o

What email did you use? My last correspondence was to <jason@wardspartswerks.com>

Tried, hope he will get back to me. In all his test he is talking about head temperature, I have always talked oil temp when dealing with heat on a Harley. Harley Davidson is using the water cooling to cool the heads so I guess that is the way to address the heat problem. I assume if you lower the head temp you in turn lower overall temp including the oil. I like all the good reviews the Ward's fans get but to date I have been unable the contact him. I did ask him some questions and he has on is web site that the chrome is out of stock and he is not sure when he will be able to offer it again. He seems to be a little irritated by people asking questions as he doesn't have time to spend with them and that all the info is on his site. I have no way of knowing how old the info on his site is so I ask about the chrome. If this is the problem then I wonder if there wouldl be any after sales support! Oh well hopefully I will hear from him. I have had it with my Harley parade fan.

I'm hearing of failures with the Wards fans. Devin, the D in DK Customs is on his third replacement set, he said this past weekend when I was visiting their shop. Wards is replacing them but if many folks are having three sets replaced, or even one or two, that has be be getting deep into his pocketbook. Also a lawsuit was filed against Wards for patent infringement. He's a nice guy so I'm certainly not wishing bad on him but probably tough times right now.

Hate to hear this. I am one that Jason's had to replace my fans. Came apart on my way back from Sturgis last year. Haven't put too many miles on the new set, maybe 1000 miles on 'em because of weather but will put 'em to the test in April with a 5 day ride down into southern New Mexico, Eureka Spgs in June and Sturgis in August and Daytona in Oct.

Like Bazooka said Jason is a nice guy, great to do business with, I'd hate to see anything go bad for him.

I also hate to hear that Jason is possibly having problems, but as I've said in the past I had a set on my 2012 Tri and never finished a trip with both of them running and usually both quit before I hit my turn around point. The fans are sitting on my workbench now and I will not be running any on the new 2015. If MOCO didn't see fit to put them on I'm not going to either, but I don't do parades and a lot of slow running, mine riding is go, gas and go again and I have no idea why I thought I needed them before.

I do a lot of Myrtle Beach and other in town riding and bike weeks, my trike wants to run hotter than I like. I have an Ultra Cool oil cooler which has 18 rows and two fans and the Harley parade fan. The Harley parade fan sux, nothing but problems, so I want to replace the Harley fan. The parade fan blows hot air on my right leg, looks like the small Wards fans would not blow the hot air onto my right leg. Harley has addressed the heat problem by cooling the heads so I think this is the way to go. Now it is just a matter of info and research to see what way to go, Wards or smaller Love Jugs. Still researching.

J&P Cycles just completed testing on the Love Jugs fans including the new smaller Coolmaster series. They like 'em and picked them up for their catalog and dealer distribution sales along with their Destination Daytona retail store. Huge endorsement for the quality and demand of this cooling system. I'll be running cool with a gloss black set of the Coolmasters on my Hannigan Bagger.

Jason called today and all is fine. He was very informative and really seems like a nice guy. I am going to watch his site for info on and availability of chrome and other directions I may go.

I just want to do a follow-up post about my previous comment. Jason also contacted me and offered to fix my failed fans again or return my money. I declined, but told him IF I change my mind and want the fans on the new bike I will return them for repairs. I really think that he has a great idea and the fans do work without cooking your right side leg. He's also a stand-up-guy in my book. I guess I was just unfortunate to get the set where all the parts were made on Monday .
