Just ordered a new 2015 Tri-Glide. Ordered quite a few extras. Thinking about the CB. Who has the CB, does it function okay and is it worth the extra money?

you will get a lot of opinions on this, but mine is I like having it. if you ride with others that have one or if you have one in another vehicle of yours it comes in real handy. I believe the bike is prewired for one so the installation shouldn't be that hard. I had the dealer install mine for warranty reasons.

Like Woody, I have it on mine. It is great when riding in a group for the leader and sweeper and really all to stay in contact for rest stops and meals. Some may not like it. AS they say, you pays yer oney and takes yer chances

It is worth it if you want one...I was really big in the CBs back in the late 70s and early 80s...and I still have one in the truck with a Rebel 200 linear (amp) but not one on Miss Mysterious...

When we had the Ultra and wife's trike, and when we both had Tri-Glides they were very useful. About 50% of the riders had them. When we upgraded to a '14 Tri and a '15 Freewheeler we went back to the Sena bike communicators we had used before. Wife normally leads, I ride sweeper so we could talk front to back. Usually it is jus the two of us. A double set of the Sena intercoms cost about $400. They also Bluetooth to and from most iPods or MP-3 players so you have wireless tunes.
Good Luck and happy shopping.

Why 3 wheels?
because 2 isn't enough and 4 is too many

I had on my 11 and had it installed on my 15. Usually ride with one other fellow, don't like the big group rides, really like the ability with out needing hand signals to let each other know if we need something. Very helpful in rush hour or construction traffic if you get separated.
Could live with out but glad I installed it.
2015 Tri-Glide, Road Zeppelin seat, CB, DK lift kit, DK floorboard extensions, Power Vision through DK and a lot of chrome goodies taken of the 2011.
Used to sell/install CB's back in the day. Never without one. Have one on my trike.
Would I but another, if I got a new trike. NO!
Have one fixed up to be plug-n-play for cage. "Plugged" only for long I-state trips to mainly to listen for traffic problems.
Reason, I'm the only one that still has one in the groups I ride with!
If you ride w/several that have them, then it's nice to have.
Talk distance is limited on a bike, no ground plane for the antenna. In normal conditions a couple miles is all you get!
Not fun anymore to listen to the truckers "bucket mouth" on the Interstates
Only you know if you will get enough use from one to pay out the big bucks one costs for a bike!
If you get one, make sure you have an SWR meter used to tune the antenna

Be careful Big Brother (the FCC) doesn't catch you with that linear. Not exactly legal!
I'm a licensed amateur radio operator and I'm gonna figure out a way to at least mount a portable on the bike. I leaning towards the factory CB install too.
Since I got my amateur license I never go on CB (11meters) anymore. I used to use it all the time from the early 70's up to about 2000. It was fun.
You ride in a group, well worth it.

Well all this CB talk has got me feeling nostalgic so I stopped by the dealer and added the CB package to my work order. 2015 Tri Glide in Mysterious Red Sunglo being readied for me. I dropped off a DK Customs Comfort Lift kit last night for the dealer to install. It should be easy as the bike is already on the lift and the pipes and header is off to be replaced with V&H duals header kit with extension kit and 4" Rineharts.
I have one on my 09 TG and my son ( Msocko3 ) has one on his Hannigan conversion and sine we do alot of long distance touring together in the summer they are worth it. Wouldn't be without it.

I like the idea of being able to communicate to my friends when we ride. Had a CB on my '07' Ultra and have a few friends with Ultra's. Guess I'm needing to get the CB for my trike now. It's so much easier doing fuel stops, grabbing a bite to eat or where we want to stop to take pictures.

To be quite honest ... I've had cb on every bike for awhile now ... didn't get it on my 2015 TG ... why ... in the many years I've had them only used them a couple of times ... most of the guys in the group we ride with have either scala or nothing ... I don't like the scala, at 70 mph can't hear anything, so I just listen to audio books on a trip ... keeps my mind out of the gutter and passes the time on long highway stretches ... as a voracious reader, it fits my personalitly and lifestyle .. even if it sometimes does distract me from little things like getting gas ... making the turn, etc. ... LOL .. thankfully it never distracts me from the road.
when the riders, with a CB, are using it in a 2 or more group, do you use channel 19 or agree on a little used channel before the ride starts? I haven't used my CB for group rides yet, but glad I have it, I'm a just in case kinda guy.
