Oh boy, I screwed up.......My Hannigan trike has the Aux fuel tank. The Aux fuel transfer pump transfer line had a check valve installed. When I changed to the Roadsmith fitting I removed the check valve. I saw it as just another failure point. Since the fuel was now going to be going straight into the top of the tank through a hole I drilled in the fuel level sending unit metal plate there was no need for the check valve, or so I thought. Well I learned that I was wrong. Fuel from the main tank is finding its way into the Aux tank and overfilling the Aux tank. The Aux tank vent/overfill tube is putting gas on the ground. This should explain my poor gas mileage. As soon as it warms up a bit I will reinstall the check valve.
Live and learn!!!
