Update on back brakes FuzzyWasHe and Gorilla.Msocko3

I received the HBC HH pads and ordered new rotors from HD. Got the rotors wholesale price from a friend up north that owns a HD dealership. YIPEE!! They have been installed and I took for a test ride today. They are not perfect, but I can stop with back brake and at speed I can REALLY stop using both. George, my hubby, can stop at speed with just the back brake, but my problem seems to be my shortness…..I only have my toe area on brake pedal……not a whole lot I can do about that. I get shorter every year it seems…..I want to thank you guys so much and you also saved me a bundle of $$$$.

Just another thought. How abut having a local shop lengthen your pedal so that your vertical challenge is not an issue ? Not sure if anyone makes a brake pedal extension that would bring it closer. Have seen many that stretch it out. Any good fabricator could do it with a piece of flat stock and a welder.

WOW, two threads, 3 pages of advise to fix your rear breaks and the problem was you couldn't reach the pedal.... When my wife got her motorcycle license they taught that stopping was 70% front break, 30% rear. Her first trike was the first '09 delivered in Southern California. Granted, the rear breaks weren't the greatest, but would stop the trike. Remember, they aren't power assisted and have to stop a lot of weight.

Glad the problem is solved, hope you have as much fun on your trike as my wife has on hers. A good welder could change the angle of your break pedal, and having it chromed wouldn't cost too much. Several people make an extended break pedal for tall folk, I haven't seen any for 'vertically challenged' Good Luck and have fun

Was thinking is wife might be going for functionality vs looks. WTH was I thinking ? I'll do my penance. I'm going to buy something totally useless but shiny....hmmmm Chrome gauge and radio bezels ought to be sufficient. What say you good sirs Rhino and Fuzzy? Penance adequate?
