    Phu Cat, have you install the vent yet, if so how hard was it and do you have any pointers so others might avoid problems. Thanks

    also, do you know of any screen kits for the vents, it seems that bugs are the biggest problem with vent 'dislikers'

    Well DTR, no, I haven't installed the vent yet. What's taking so long, you ask? A couple of things: we've had a lot of nice weather so we've been riding a lot. We bought a trailer to pull behind the bike and I'm having trouble getting the lights sorted out on the trailer. (With the 'bypass' wiring system installed on the bike, all the wiring checks out at the trailer hitch with a test light. With the trailer hooked up to a separate battery, the trailer lights work the way they are supposed to. The electrical couplings are wired up so the appropriate wires go where they should. But then when the trailer is connected to the bike the only system that works correctly is the brakes and the left turn signal. In fact, when I turn on the right turn signal, the right turn signal on the bike flashes, but the left turn signal on the trailer flashes also!) I have gone over, and over and over these wires to make sure everything is wired the way it is supposed to be. But when I put the trailer and bike together, they won't do what they are supposed to. I'm about to give up and that's why I haven't gotten to the windshield.

    thanks for the reply, sorry to hear about your wiring problem, hope you figure it out.

    You most likely already tried this, but have you tried a temporary ground, from frame to frame, grounds or bad grounds on trailers cause ALL kinds of strange problems. Just a thought.

    If you get around to the vent let us know how it goes.

    The problem is you're hooking it up to a Harley.

    Of all the problem I've had, electrical ones are the worse.

    Let me guess, You have a 4 wire plug on the trailer?
    The Harley uses a 5 wire system. It uses 1 for lights, 1 for brakes (works both sides), 1 for left turn(not brakes), 1 for right turn (not for brakes), & 1 for ground.
    The best way is to use an isolator to combine the turn & the brake properly without feedback into the system .
    You can also use a converter that plugs into one side at 5 wire, & out has the 4 wire. If you can find the correct one

    PC I have 4 questions concerning your wiring:
    1. What year is your TG
    2. Who's "bypass" wiring isolator kit did you use
    3. Are you doing a 4 or 5 wire kit and
    4 What brand is your trailer

    I also had problems getting my 2015 wired to my Bushtec trailer, but did get it finally. Everyone said I needed a canbus module in the wiring so I put it in and I had some crazy lights. After checking and rechecking everything I took the canbus modue out and everything worked perffect and still is and no codes on the bike.
