    Default Loaner Trike

After work this morning I'm heading to Keene, NH to pick up a loaner trike to use until my RSV/Hannigan is completed.
I believe it will be a Yamaha Stratoliner but not sure which trike kit it has. Will know more when the shop opens at 10.
It won't be my trike but at least I will get to enjoy a few nice days of riding and start on the learning curve on how to handle a trike before I actually get on mine.
Looking forward to being out of the cage for the summer!!

Nice! Loaner trike is unheard of around my part of the country. They just never seem to have any to use. Two wheels no problem.

Yes, how good is that to get a loaner. Cannot get on one my RS trike shop even to putt putt around town while the tech dose his thing. Guess I understand, a little thing called liability.

Loner's are great, I've had loner's with cars, The thing I noticed that when you have a loner you won't have to call to see if your trike is ready, they'll call you..

If the company was any good they would have yours done, 6 mos. they have it and not done. They could borrow a tech from a another shop if that is why its not done.

Started buying/leasing my cars/trucks from a local dealer more years ago that I want to mention! Because of this, I can have a loaner anytime I need one.
Trike is different! I've only bought 1 conversion and do not expect a loaner, especially since the installer I now use is not the one I purchased from!
Curious about Jonsey's comment on "6 months" What's up with that

understand the owner dropped it off in Octoberish, and told it would be done march or so. much too long for a 2 to3 week job. shop owner was in hospital, but does shop coming to a grinding halt when he was. trike owner should be on top of list, before anything is done he should have things taken care of. Could the trike company send a tech to the builder shop to finish the job if no tech there is the reason things are not done.

There isn't any mention in the original post of the length of time the shop has had the bike to convert to a trike.

It seems to me that this problem is now being handled. The OP is getting a loaner, the trike will get done and correctly. From what I've seen, Hannigan makes a great product and gets involved when they need to to get things done right. I think the delay is unfortunate, but seems there was some pretty good reasons for the delays. I feel in the end, the OP will have a great ride. I think we should all calmly watch this play out.

picked up the loaner this morning...Yamaha Roadliner? Pretty plain trike as nothing has been added. Since I have never been on a trike the owner took me out to a large parking lot and had me practice 4 different things until he and I were comfortable with my handling. Then he hopped on the back and directed me on a 27 mile loop thru back roads with some up/down hill runs, sweeping curves left/right and some sharp turns. All the while he was giving me pointers. Once I started relaxing (my first time on a bike since Oct) things came into place. dropped him off at the shop and hit the road for the 90 mile adventure. Took some of what he showed me and some of what I have read in your posts on TT. Once I drove Thru the curves it handled so much better.

This trike does not have the Steer Lite or whatever it's called and my shoulders are vouching for that. Also, my ass was hurting by the time I got home. I did however remember to stay wide at the gas pumps!!! (this time) Had a good talk with the owner and things seem to be moving along with mine now that he has a technician to do the build. Thanks to Hannigan for coming to the rescue and with some luck I should be exchanging a loaner for my RSV in about 10 days. Things happen in life which are unavoidable and everyone has setbacks.

The owner told me I should be yelling at him.....what's the use, that will only get my BP up and cause undo stress on my body. All things happen for a reason so I'll stay calm and try to understand what the owner has been through and maybe Karma will visit someone who needs it! Thanks to everyone for your support and good wishes..I will meet many of you on the road soon and I'm looking forward to the trek to W Dover, VT in Aug.

Hannigan located my bike. It is at Ace Motorworks in W. Berlin NJ. They were asked to do the rear end. The word is they should complete that this week. The plan from there is the original builder will be in NJ the day it should be completed to transport it back to NH. The next day the front end will be finished and I will get my trike. With any luck I will have it Friday/Saturday of Memorial Day weekend.
When I get the date the front end will be done, I may take that day off and spend the day at the shop "assisting" in this phase to make sure it GETS DONE. When I'm not actually helping with the front end, I should have time to wrench on a few pieces of chrome that have been sitting in my kitchen/porch just waiting for a home!!

    Everyone keep your fingers crossed!
