2015 Run For The Wall

Anyone else participating in the Run For The Wall (RFTW) this year? We are leaving out of Ontario, CO Wednesday, 5/13, destination will be Arlington, VA after 10 days of riding. Joining Rolling Thunder on Sunday before Memorial Day. Going to be a little crowed I heard there were 1,000,000 bikes last year.

Just FYI..... Plan on being in Eureka Springs in June.

I'd love to do this ride at least once before I can't do it at all, but not this year. I imagine I have a few friends whose names are on that wall. 2018 will be 50 years since I was there. I think I'll try for that one.

Would love to do it again, but too much going on this year.
I have done this ride 7 times starting in 2003 and it never gets old.

Yes sir-
I am planning on riding down from New Jersey to Tysons Corner, VA. early Saturday morning the 23rd. I'm going over to the festivities in Fairfax, VA at Patriot Harley Davidson and plan on going to their ceremony, parade and on their police escorted Ride of the Patriots on Sunday morning to the Pentagon to join up with Rolling Thunder XXVIII. Last year they had 4500 bikes in that run to the Pentagon. I've never done it before and it's something on my bucket list. My club has other plans so I'm riding solo. Hopefully the weather will hold up on Monday (Memorial Day) for my return ride. At this point I'm seeing 70-80% rain in the forecast on 2/3 of the weather sites I visit. Accuweather and the Weather Channel say cloudy and 88-90deg. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on that one. I'm not looking forward to a 4-1/2 hour ride home in the rain up RT.95.

taking a break and n ot going this year due to lower back issues. First we have missed in a long time. We used to ride in with Ft wWashington HD but their ride always seems to not stay together and several times we got either lost or left. Started going with Patriot and let me tell you, it is first class. athey block off two lanes of a 4 lane road to stage the bikes, police and fire escort nto I-66 . cops actuall clear inbound side of I66 and block entrances so no one breaks up the ride. They just do a great job. Make sure to go down to the wall Friday night for the Mothers walk. they have a bagpiper in the trees that plays amazing grace then a bugler plays taps. It will put a lump in your throat.

I rode the midway route. It is an emotional rollercoaster. Tears to laughter in minutes. 2016 I will be riding again, with a new hip so hoping the pain is significantly improved.
