96 GL1500 Motor trike lug nut torque

Got my first trike about a month ago. It was meticulously maintained by the previous owner. I spent a career in helicopter maintenance and am very meticulous as well. I have gone through pretty much everything. The one answer I can not find is the proper lug nut torque. The rear has American Racing chrome steel wheels. Can someone help me with this?

Have you considered phoning Motor Trike directly and getting the answer from them? It could likely be your most creditable source of information,

Skip, my MotorTrike rear wheels were torqued to 85 ft lbs per the owners manual. Hope that helps :xszpv::xszpv:

My MT trikes rear wheels are also at 85ft/lbs.
Only because at anymore, Id be physically unable to break the nuts in the event of a flat with a lug wrench.
I do check them weekly.
Somehow I managed to loose a lug nut a few months back???
The lugs MT uses aren't the easiest to find. I had to order 2 from MT as is.
Might as well have a spare just incase.ThumbUp

Suggestion that I did, Buy a pair of locking lug nuts and now you have protection and an extra pair for the trunk.... Just FYI

Sounds about right. I've been using 90 lbs - but don't remember who/where I got that number from. Anyway, it's been working for me. If anyone else has a vastly different number, please let us know... :Shrug:
