Anyone use the downtube version of cup holder from Hog Trough

Already have a negative opinion about the company, but still looks like what I want. For the last couple of weeks been trying to get a few answers from them with no luck. Out of seven (7) emails, only three (3) have been even replied to, then just a "product has been designed to fit" answer. Been asking about either the distance from the tube to cup basket, or just the diameter of cup (or sleeve) so I could estimate the size from their picture. Would rather not order, spend 2 minutes fitting it, then returning it if......

Looks interesting, simple attachement and looks made for containers as big as a can coolie.
Not sure about the placement - I would think the cool would be sucked away by it being out in the wind, and on the downtube right next to the engine doesn't seem to be the best place to keep a bottle from heating up, especially when riding slow or stopped. I personally prefer handlebar mounting - behind a windshield the air is more still and will carry away heat slower, and even without a windshield the drink is more accessable. My holder is on a detachable mount (RAM Mount)so I can take it off when I'n not using it.
Of course every YMMV - what's good for me may not be best for you.

An afterthought. I do know a guy in our FORR local with something like this on his Road King- not sure if it is the same brand, but his kit came with shims to fit downtubes from
1 1/8" to 1 1/2 ".

I've had the holders on my lowers for year. Even added them to the FLRT. Like the way they work and the fact that you have locking doors.

Thanks, but the ones I have questions about is the version that mounts on the frame, looks like you added the lower guard and boxes to yours, don't plan to add those. That is why I'm asking about how far from the frame the downtube version keeps the cup.

I have the same setup as Keystone from Hog Trough......they have excellent customer service as far as I'm concerned. Have called several times (they're in Kansas) and great results....they even sent me a "free" cup holder for the lowers!
