    Default lehman straight axel.

    Is there any spring or movement in the rear end of the trike when going over a bump in the road? or is the back end totally solid? I am just asking because I am new to triking.

    Just like a car with solid rear axle; two shocks and two springs. The IRS setup improves the ride and handling because what happens on one side doesn't affect the other.
    Wing with Roadsmith kit, Traxxion Ak20 cartridges and Accuride System.

    07 ST 1300 for two-wheeled fun!

    Since you asked that, I'm going to suggest you check your suspension settings! While the IRS units do provide a smoother ride, your SA may be on the stiffest settings

    Also, tire pressure can affect the ride. What are you running your rear tires at?
    Also, what are you running in the front tire?

    The Lehman unit runs 2 shocks in the rear. They utilize the Honda hydraulic unit along with a manually adjustable heavy duty progressive shock and spring for the rear end. Its a straight axle but its fully sprung like a car.

    My 05 Monnarch II, solid axle, is Single Shock.. manual adjustment can be made with spanner wrench. This is in addition to Honda OEM shock..Heavy Duty shock can be had from Lehman, if in stock that is.

    I was told supposedly theres no difference in the stock versus heavy duty shock except the heavy duty shock has the stiffer progressive spring.

    Thanks for the info guys. I was thinking that my new 2014. Monarch 11 was

    completely solid at the back end after my recent experiences with the trike.

    I will have to get under and see if I can adjust the suspension, and make it softer I was begining to think that I had made the wrong choise, and should have bought the independant model instead.

    The roads here in Edmonton are very bad.Even in a car you can not have a proper conversation for the banging and jolting about.

    In responce to the tire pressure question, In the front wheel I have 38 psi,and in the back wheels I have 23 psi.

    The worst thing owning a trike, is dealing with road imperfections. Odds are one of those 3 wheels are gonna take a hit.

    You also might check your rear tire pressures. I run 21-22 lbs in mine,anything more and you can notice the difference in the ride.
