It pays off to read the post that other Stallion owners have listed. Yesterday while we were on a side trip in Yosemite National Park, my Stallion started overheating. I checked everything I could while we were on the side of the road but couldn't figure out what the problem was. Well after limping back about 60 miles I got my papers out and I found some of the articles I printed off on "Stallion overheating". My problem was the relay for the fan motor located under the seat. The post told me to check the switch by the right rear wheel and ground the blue wire. After checking it I decided it was the relay and went to the local O'Reilly's and they had the relay I needed. Plugged it in and took the Stallion for a test ride and there was that SWEET sound (the fan motor). What I'm trying to say is THANKS to the owners who post with their problems and how they fixed it. Saved me a trip to a mechanic (if I could find one) and a day off the road.

Ed, sounds like my problem, but I can,t figure which is the fan relay...do you have aa part number from O,Reilly's?

My stallion is a 2013 and thee book doesn't,t match the layout in the power dist box...thanks for any help...Flangar

I do not have a 2013 but an 08. So I do not know what the layout of your power distribution box is, but I believe all the relays in the box are the same. I would pull one go to the parts store get a replacement and then start popping it into the different location until you get the fan to work. that is assuming that your issue is the relay. If you replace them at least you will have eliminated that as a issue.

That's what I did. All three relays are the same and it was the middle relay that corrected my problem. The relay number is R681 which is an O'Reilly's number. My Stallion is an 08 and the relays are located under the seat an strapped to the crossmember. Hope this helps you.

Ed I'm beginning to think our late 08/fiberglass 09 may have been the best ones turned out. MJ is pushing 75k on her late 08 and the issues have been minimal. The early 08 (175) she had before this one had several issues that caused us to switch Stallions.

We are still out on the road with around 5,000 miles on this trip and not saying to much before I get back home, we only had the one problem with the fan relay. I'm thinking your right and we got some good trikes. We have around 2,000 more mile before we get back from this trip and keeping my fingers cross no other problems will come up.

I've added a remote switch to mine great if sitting in heavy traffic or such
