Warning Indicators/ diagnostic self test question!

Hi folks!

I ran out of fuel in my main tank yesterday on my RSV and realized my low fuel indicator did not come on. Upon further checking I got no indicator when I first turn the key to on during self diagnostic test(the speedo did its thing ok). Since I had replaced the front speakers last week I'm thinking that this is a self inflicted problem. Perhaps a pinched wire or loose connector.

Anyway I loosened the screws to remove the fairing and tried the switch again. I now am getting the check engine light on for about 1-1.5 seconds and then goes out. Is the check engine light the only light that should come on when the ignition is switched on and self test is completed successfully?

Never mind, I found the answer in the service manual. Sure glad I bought that thing!
It is working properly.

Don't ya love service manuals ... I always carry mine on trips ... bulky but I always make room for them, and tools of course.

I'm pretty sure you can't on the HD's ... after all ... how would the charge you $$$ for that ...
