I received my e bay Wild Pig pipe this morning which made me happy, it wasn't scheduled to arrive until Tuesday. The welder I had talked to about cutting out my cat had to go out of town and had not returned yet so I bought this pipe. This pipe was advertised to be for a tri glide but had the adapter pipe attached to the header pipe, instead of being all one length.
I had a heck of a time with the exhaust gaskets staying in place while trying to fit up the pipe but I got it worked out and soon had it all ready to tighten down.
Then I noticed the right muffler stuck out a 1/2' longer than the left. The adapter pipe was not totally in as far as it could go. I pounded it off and used a Dremel sanding drum to remove any burring, added anti seize and tapped the pipe into the proper length. I got it all into place and loosely tightened the nuts.
When I put the exhaust flange nuts on I dropped one onto the motor somewhere. Both I and the wife looked for sometime but we were unable to find it.
I have to go get a couple more tomorrow and finish the job. One nut missing messes up the whole job.
I called Fuel moto Thursday night to get a new license for my PV 1 and a map for this trike with the exhaust changes I made. Those guys sure move fast. I called at 4:20 something and was up and running with new license and map before 5 PM EDT. Kudos to a great team and customer service.
Tomorrow when I get the new flange nuts I will be done and hopefully no leaks. I am really looking forward to the sound and cool temps.
