Rushmore Boom Audio Base

Is it me or does anyone else hate the boom box audio on the 14's and up. Not all of it, just the stinking hole that makes the tour pak into a base box. I listen to Christian Music almost exclusively, The Message on Sirius. My trike is constantly "Booming". Granted I crank it up a lot so I can hear it. It gibves me a headache .... I tried using the fader to silence the rear speakers, that works but takes away the surround sound effect. Next I tried turning the base all the way off. No boom but sounds like dung. I think I found a temp fix (maybe permanent).

I took a piece of the self adhesive loop side of a 2" velcro and cut it pretty close to the opening in the tour pak. Stuck it over the holes, there are two. I haven't ridden it yet to test, but in the garage, I can have the base normal and all speakers working with no "boom". The plus, the velcro actually blends in with the tour pak liner. If your looking to "tone down" the base ... this works.

If you can get to the speakers, put some foam padding around them. it will absorb the highs and lows.

It's basically the same boxes they've always used ... just got an outlet for the base to go into the tour pak and expand. If this doesn't work, I'll get some foam in there.

I like bass, and to me, there is none. In places there should be good deep tones, I think it over modulates.

Took it for a ride today ... I actually like the mod. I'm thinking of adding one more layer. If I turn the base down a little from the mid point, I don't get the Boom Boom. Another layer might be perfect.
