    Default Burgman Trike

Any folks out there that put a "true" trike kit on their Burgmann 650?
If so how is it and how has it held up?

    Default Burgman 650

I just had Motor Trike's Breeze kit installed on my like new Burgman 650 by Midwest Bikes to Trikes in Tonganoxie, KS. Shortly after installation I rode from Columbia, MO to Billings, MT to attend BMW International Rally. Round trip nearly 3,000 miles. I love trike and the ride. Speed limit on interstate highways in WY and MT 80 mph and the 650 handled that well. My GPS recorded maximum speed of 87 mph, more than likely when I passed another vehicle.

Here's a comment I posted on another web site:

Recently had Motor Trike's Breeze installed on my very low mileage Burgman 650 and the rear brakes are virtually useless. Initially Motor Trike's analysis was new rotors and pads are glazed and brakes will improve after riding a few miles. WRONG! I just completed a 3,000 mile trip and brakes stop no better now than they did initially. Motor Trike does not seem to have a solution to the problem.

    Hope this helps.

That's dissapointing about the brakes issue. I take it you haven't found a way to improve them on your own?

    Default Burgman Trike

I have a 2009 Burgman 650 with a Trinity true trike set on it. Bought the bike used and it came with the trike set already on it. The first year was a expensive undertaking to get it right. I have a mechanic that works on trikes an engineer by trade and he is good. He had to take the chain off as the sprocket went bad after 4000 miles. The Trinity Trike set is junk the way it was put together including the parts. It took my guy three weeks to get it right. Now I have quality parts in there and the trike runs great.

Put 1400 miles on it this summer no problems ride it everyday. A Burgman with a true tike set well there isn't many out there. Danson is the best I think. Not a true trike set but less issues as long as you use a dark side drive tire. A scooter tire will not hold up on a Danson set up. As far as breaks I have ABS but it doesn't work on a Trinity trike set so I had it taken off. My rear break is fine no issues and if I have to make a fast stop no problem. Not sure if the Yelvington trike set is much better than the Trinity. Trinity was bought out by Witte partner and not sure who has it now. I hope there new parts are better than the Trinity parts. The design has changed. Been to a few motorcycle dealer shows but not many people hang around over at the Yelvington booth. Don't see many on the road. So not sure how they are fairing.

Got all kinks & squeaks fixed and love it. Feel free to ask questions on it.
Again not too many Breesers out there or talking bout it

We have a 2011 650 Burgman Yelvington Trike we took ride in chilly weather last Sunday. Actually is was my wife's first ride on it since I went down to Dothan AL and picked it up on Nov 30th of last year.

I am curious of how the ride would compare to a MotorTrike Conversion since I think they both use a straight axle in back. I do know that the MotorTrike conversion Kit uses brakes on each wheel which the Yelvington I have preserved the Disk Brake in the rear on the rotor of the rear axle that originally came with the bike.

I am sure there are other differences but I am not sure what those are as of yet.

Well looks like it's a "pay for play" in the For Sale section: again been away and things change. So won't be positing in 4-Sale section, but check out CycleTrader.com for the Burgman 650 trike (w/Motor Trike Breese Kit). Bye all-going into hibernation again.
