    Default Vibration under braking

    Just picked up a 96 GW with a Hannigan conversion.
    Has a vibration from the left rear when braking, At least it sounds like the left side.
    What is the best way to jack these up?
    I also bought a used older Escapade trailer and it has a 6 pin round connector. The trike has 5 wires wrapped in tape coming out of a split loom by the hitch. What colors are what? Or is it time for a test light and a helper?
    These things sure sit low. I hit bottom a lot living on a dirt road.

    Dan

    Well firstly, thanks much for joining the Hannigan Owner Family. Wishing you many safe miles and endless smiles.

    There are two Methods to Jack-Up your GL1500 HMS Trike:
    1. If equipped with Trailer Hitch, place the Floor Jack Plate under the Hitch Assembly where the Outboard Angle-Braces join the Main Tube and lift. When desired height is achieved, place Jack-Stands under the rear corners of the Main Frame.
    2. If Not Hitch equipped, place the Floor Jack Plate under the Diff (Pumpkin) and lift. Due to our In-Line Drive-Shaft/Offset Diff Design, the "short Shaft side" will lift quicker than the "long Shaft Side". Lift slowly and some find it helpful & prudent to have a 2nd Person on that "long side" to provide stabilization by placing their hands under the Body Fender Well edge and steady that side till lifted and Jack-Stands are in place in the same locations described above.

    Trailer Wiring Color-Code:
    BLACK=Ground
    BROWN=Running Lights
    BLUE=Right Turn
    RED=Left Turn
    WHITE=Brake
    Of course, confirming with a Test-Light or Multi-Meter is always a good idea to be sure the Functions are the same as when applied here at manufacture. Little time & effort upfront can save you from Issues and re-work later.

    Unfortunately, can't help much on the Dirt Road bottom-out situations. While you have it Jacked, check to insure the Shocks are in the 3rd/middle Pre-tension Setting. If they are not now, make them so.

    That may help.
    If that isn't the Case, call the Highway/Road Dept....

    Hope the above helps.

    Should you need anything else or to discuss further, please give us a call now or anytime.
    All the best to you and yours!

    Disc Brakes.
    That's ALL Hannigan has ever put on our Trikes.

    Obviously, the Rear Brakes (Assembly & Parts therof) would be the Primary Suspect with any Rear Vibration while braking Situation.
    Should that not be the Cause in this Case, please give us a call.

    Check for foreign debris in the pads, I had a tiny stone stuck in mine and it cause vibration and some noise.

    If the pads are good then I would look at a warped rotor. They might have got it too hot going down a steep hill riding the brake.
