Thanks for that tip. I've got a whole box of square pegs that I couldn't use before unless rounded with a file, as Phu Cat suggests.
OTH, the square peg analogy usually refers to people who are misfits. I know a few of those. Let's see...besides me, of course, there's S..., B..., G..., C..., T..., etc, etc. I'm sure you can build your own list pretty quickly.
I spent 20+ years in the Cutting tool industry and never saw anything like that. That being said, it looks more like an Endmill operation, meaning either the table or machine head is making small movements.
