Drivers room? For those of you that had moved from the 1500 to the 1800, did you find that the 1800 has more room / comfort for the driver?

The 1500 has more driver room. On the 1800 they moved the driver forward almost two inches to give the passenger more room. Of course, that also changed the center of gravity on the bike with its new frame and more sporty handling.

That's what I was afraid of, Oh well. I was looking for more driver room between the two so I guess I'll stay with what I have. Thanks MHGoldwing

I've had a 1500 2 wheeler and a 1500 trike before moving to an 1800 trike. My wife and I both feel the comfort level on the 1800 is much better than our 1500's. There is a bit less room but overall comfort is better in my opinion. Personal preference if nothing else I guess.

Depending on what you need, you might talk to Tom Simmons, a custom seat builder in Fayetteville, Ar. http://tscustomseats.com/gpage.html

I know he changes seats to accommodate rider's needs and may be able to solve your problem. He did a friend of mine's and moved him back because he is 6'5" and his knees were hitting the fairing. BTW, there are very few actual custom seat builders left. Most just use a small, medium, large format.

I've had a Tom Simmons seat on since last winter. Great guy and SUPERB product. And YES, it did help a bunch. Thanks for the heads up though!
