Where's the rain?

I need rain bad. When I couldn’t find my Chihuahua yesterday I went looking for her. I heard a muffled bark when I went out in the back yard. After a few minutes, I found her in one of the deep cracks in my yard. When I finally got her out, she was barking in Chinese. The day before that, I nearly broke my leg when I stepped into one of the cracks in my pasture. It took me almost half an hour to climb out of that crack.

Seriously, it has rained all around here, but we haven’t seen any on this place since June 23. My wife and I rode thru a good rain coming through Belton Friday. It sure felt good to get wet on the road. We ran out of it a half mile from home. By the time I got home, it was dry as a bone. Central Texas can be cruel during the summer. 10:30 and already 93 degrees, but at least we can ride nearly all year long (mostly in the heat.)

Mother Nature has a way of evening things up... Be careful what you wish for.....

Think floods... When She evens things up... Ouch!.....

Back in June when it was raining so much, I said "when is it ever going to end?" I guess some people are just never content.

It's really not that big of a deal, except I have farm animals that are struggling to graze. The pasture has given up the ghost. They are the ones I feel sorry for. Hay will keep them going for a while.

We had a severe thunderstorm that went through here about three hours ago,with torrential rainfall and 50mph winds. Temperatures went from 96 to 75 degrees in about twenty minutes. Feels pretty good outside,right now.

I'm so jealous!!!

60% chance of thunderstorms here yesterday and we got the other 40%!!! Storms to the north, south, east, and west but nothing came to San Angelo.. What a bummer. We sure need some moisture!!

The monsoon season should be starting up in a week or so,Jerry. Did your area not get a ton of rain in May,like us? All of our lakes are full,now.

We did get that rain... It didn't fill the lakes but sure put a bunch in them. The farmers and ranchers around here are the real winners from that wet spell. The weather folks say we are still five or six inches of rain ahead of average but you sure wouldn't know that by looking at the lawns. Unless they are watered a couple times a week they just don't stay green here...
