lift point clarification
I have read the manual re trike lift points but I still have a question. To install the DK lift it states to jack the bike up then place the jack stands on the rear cross member at the back of the trunk. Is there any reason I can't simply lift the bike using two bottle jacks on the cross member rather than lifting on the axle and then putting the jack stands on the cross member??

Not really ... the issue is to get the weight off the axle so it "hangs". The next issue is to have it on jack stands not a jack for safety while installing the lift kit. On mine, the bolts on the Harley bracket where really tight, so I was glad it was on the stands. Lots of yanking and I'll confess, some mechanical agitation was involved ...
I think the instructions have you jack it up via the axle so that you see the axle "hang when you put the trike on the stands.

Is this the right location to drop down and safely support the rear of the Trike on jack stands?

Should work as long as the axel hangs and it's fully, safely supported.
Like JC I am interested in getting a lift kit. I have a pair of ramps, a pair of jack stands, a front wheel chalk and velcro strap for the front brake lever. I 'had' a 2-Ton floor jack and just swapped it for a 1500 lb motorcycle lift figuring I could lift the whole trike at once. Unfortunately that does not work with the Harbor Freight motorcycle lift. So now I am going to go get my 2-Tone floor jack back. These Trikes are tricky to work on, and I guess/hope that I learn from my mistakes.

Experience is a cruel teacher ... but very effective. The key I've found when working on my trike was to be aware of weather I was being as safe as I could. ~400# more weight makes me keenly aware of safety.

Yea the HD bracket is removed and replaced with the DK bracket.
Ok then, I'm thinking of doing this mod and have been reading all about it. Seems like it's easy to do yourself and works well. Thanks

Put the DK comfort lift kit on my Freewheeler a couple of weeks ago. Was a pretty easy job and the instructions were good. As others have said, main thing is to make sure the trike is on some jack stands for safety sake. I put a strap around my front brake. Jacked the trike and put the jack stands under the rear brace as it says in the instructions. Had my floor jack positioned under the rear drive pulley housing as per the instructions. All went well. Trike rides and handles better and sits level now.Ok then, I'm thinking of doing this mod and have been reading all about it. Seems like it's easy to do yourself and works well. Thanks

That is exactely where I put the jackstands. I did use the ones that are furthest forward...Dave

Hey trikemutha ,,, Did you make that adaptor ?? How tall is it ?? And how wide ?? Did you bolt it to the jack ?? I like it and can make it if I know a few Dimensions..Thanks Dave
Nope bought it from pitbull jacks..It has a lip that slides and holds on to the lip of the jack .. Don't have dimensions as I have to find the adapter plate..I don't use it much these days ..
