Does anyone have any experience with Rekluse clutches on a Tri Glide?
Does anyone have any experience with Rekluse clutches on a Tri Glide?
Yep. Their headquarters and manufacturing facility is 2 miles from my home. I was the very first TGlide owner to try them out a couple of years ago when my HD dealer guys gave them my name, as they were looking for a TG owner that would let them install and test for free, and I could keep it if I liked it. There are a couple of threads on here somewhere back then where I talked about it.
I actually did like them a lot. I tested 2 different models. One with double the plates as normal. My HD Tech had one testing on his Road Glide and liked it a lot. One problem for me though.. and I am told they fixed this,, even when you had the TGlide in gear, it would still roll around like it was in neutral. Not good for me since took off my useless parking brake 2 weeks after I got my TG. I used a Velcro strip to lock my front brake when I would leave it parked somewhere other than my garage. This didn't matter on 2 wheels as you used the kickstand and it wouldn't roll anyway. They had not thought of that.
You do not use the clutch to shift, or just barely feather pull it in. You can leave it in gear while sitting at a light or stop sign and it just sits there and idles in first gear... then hit the gas to go just like a automatic trans car. I could downshift very smoothly with no clutch, but it was a little more tuff to find the sweet spot to upshift, but I got better at it. They told me to beat the crap out of them and try and bust it up...and they would replace anything that needed to be, and I did beat the crap out of it. Never could make it break. I put about 2500 miles on the first one and a 1,000 miles on the second one with more plates. When I did the full stage 4 I had to take it out to put in a more beefed up clutch as the higher torque made it slip. I was told they fixed that issue also.
If someone has wrist problems or issues working a clutch, I highly recommend installing one of these. Or if you just don't want to bother using the clutch. You seriously never have to squeeze it in if you don't want to. I was told they have it perfected now and solved the rolling while in gear issue. I have no affiliation with them at all, it was just fun testing it out, banging it around, and trying to break it. They were great, very nice guys, and they make some great products.

2011 Cool Blue TriGlide with full stage 4, a lotta other upgrades, and a lotta shiny stuff.
Hi..My name is Trent and I am a Chromaholic.
Thanks Trent for info. They(Rekluse) said that shifting in higher gears is tricky and take a little getting used to. Your thoughts.
Did not have any issues with that at all... smooth and effortless for me.

Thanks again. Jack
I installed one on a 2015 in late July. Works great. No problems. You just have to get used to a few little things like the "freewheeling". I'd recommend it.
Yes it will still roll in gear. However, I was referring to the freewheeling while going down a big hill. It takes some getting used to, but its not difficult. Just blip the throttle up an let the clutch out while the rpms are high and you can use engine braking but you have to watch it a bit.
