How does it ride with all the extra weight you can carry on the rear ? Nice looking ride.

Looks very nice. Didn't think of some thing like that, just got a trailer.

Looks really well designed ... especially the light issue. Good call on little lights or reflective tape on the side ... it's a jungle out there and they don't see what you don't shove in their face ...
I am kinda confused about the receiver, did you make a 90* extension? Kinda tough to get from the pic. I've been thinking as a winter project. maybe redoing my rack ... it's a lot overkill now ..
maybe lighten it up and add some better lighting ...
the not needing to get on the ground to mount, is very intriguing.
I bought another ball mount like this one http://www.carid.com/curt/class-1-ba...UV0aApdV8P8HAQ
and bought a raw 1 1/4" receiver tube http://www.ebay.com/itm/Curt-49506-R...aa337a&vxp=mtr
I needed the 11 9/16" length ball mount for the total length to get past my rear bumper.
I cut the ball mount about halfway through the bend removing the rest of the mount that I didnt need.
I made a 45 degree cut removing about 3" of the receiver tube that I didnt need. Using my neighbor mig welder I tacked the ball mount and receiver tube at the angle I wanted.
My buddy who welds, does metal fabrication for go carts and does the powder coating made the tube tray to my specs, finished welding everything as needed and powder coated it for me. This wider cargo carrier is for my modified knee scooter that I carry when Im going to museums or have a need for the use of it. It also can carry other things as well.
Being a A/K disabled rider its tough even in my garage to get on the floor to put the hitch pin in. Having the ability to remove the rack if Im at a location for a few days was something I had on my mind for several years with my smaller rack I was using.
I have a H/F trailer with a cargo box in the garage. I know there will be a time and place to use it. But for now, this rack I had help making will do for me as needed.
I am looking for a cargo bag now to put my scooter in and will have another pic once I get the bag.

What are the inside dimensions of the cargo box? It may be a better way to carry my wheelchair. It's a manual type that weighs about 20#. What I use now is the type of carrier that mounts on the back of cages. It does not hold up well.

36"x22" the carrier you are using needs a upper support to stabilize it. I have a George Anderson tour pack relocation plate that is made of plate steel. I have considered making a carrier for my wheelchair. The downside is access to the trunk.
I'm fortunate for now I can stand and walk for short periods before I have sit back down. I modified a knee scooter that I carry with me that I use as a aid when I visit museums.

I have a small Harbor Freight trailer with a cargo box attached to it for those times I have to have my wheelchair

You're right about trunk access being a pain. But, if I pull the chair off and the vertical bar for the top mount, I get full access. I'll be measuring my ti-lite titanium super light chair to see if it would fit. (Thanks to the VA) I also just moved my TourPac box back 1" which leave me some pretty hefty stock to mount an upper brace to.
