My Trailer Hauling Weight

Even though I'm not leaving for warmer climate just yet, I loaded my '12 Goldwing trike into my 7' x 10' trailer with electric brakes today and took it to a official weigh scale were it weighed in a total of 2820#.

I figured about that because the trailer alone was approx. 1500 + and with the trike inside I figured about another 1200#.

I don't need a license plate here in my home state for anything under 4500#, so I feel better now that I have something to show a traffic officer if I get pulled over traveling out of state without a plate.

No not yet, I will do that here at home with a bathroom scale.
The weight of the trike must be perfectly balance inside because there's no sway of the trailer
when going down the road at any speeds.

Sounds like you have plenty of tongue weight if it is that stable... Do you have the instructions on using a conventional bathroom scale to measure tongue weight? If not, I can send it....

Yes I have instructions.
I used them many times towing boats for many years.

In my state tags are not required for any size trailer. The catch is if I pull it to a state that does require a trailer tag I will get ticketed. My state offers a permanent trailer tag for $20 that allows me to pull it anywhere in the US. You might want to look into this. It's much cheaper than a ticket.

Hence the $20.00 for a tag.
In most states like here in Wisconsin, there's a load limit.
For me anything over 4500# you better apply for a license, anything less your OK.
That would be me because my total weight (trailer and trike) is 2820#

Now, what I'm wondering if I don't have a license showing because of me being under weight in my home state,
will I get pulled over crossing every state line to prove I don't need a tag..........

We have a Pipeline Company near my home that travels nation wide with very small trailers some less then 1000#.
They get so sick of being pulled over out of state, they just pay the $110 for the license and tags.
