My husband and I did a little bit of riding this weekend. Left Thursday and rode to Ocean City for the DelMarVa bike week. Left Ocean City after participating on Friday, rode Thru Deleware to home. Yesterday, we rode up to Benezette and back. Great riding. So lots of Trikes in Ocean City, lots. Sorry to see summer go.

66F here in NH..Summer is slowly going South!
Time to get the Gerbins out of the closet and dust it off for future riding!

I took a gamble yesterday to help send off 3 new Army recruits with the American Legion Riders. Got caught in a down pour just before getting to the recruiting center so put rain gear on after getting soaked but it was still coming down. Then it cleared and the sun came out for a second. So I and 3 others put up our flags. About 8 miles down the road we road into rain again but it kept getting worse. Turned into the ride from hell. Looking at the radar this morning I now understand what happened. We didn't ride into it so much as it formed on top of us.

Rained off and on all day there. Once we broke off and the recruits went their way, we put our flags up and headed home. Was absolutely pouring in places. About 15 miles we finally broke clear. Then it was just spotty showers the rest of the way home. Now everything is hanging out to dry. And I mean EVERYTHING. It was raining so hard when we put our flags away that just opening things up too put them away caused everything else to get wet.

And now I have a filthy bike. I had 3 1/2 miles of wet gravel and spotty mud to ride thru to get home. We apparently got a shower too. We sure needed the rain but yesterday sorta sucked. At least the kids got an inspirational send off. If we could do it so can they. We've been told that escorts like we do have really increased the success of recruits with far fewer washing out. So it's all good. These guys just got a little more inspiration.

Been here in Meredith NH for 3 days. We are lovin' this weather. Florida has been either VERY hot or VERY wet all summer. Gonna hate to go home on Saturday. We will be back here soon to spend 3 months a year. Sunbirds!!!

Good riding season is upon us here in southern NM. Low 90s all week. Last week we were up in the high 90s. Jim

I left Cruces almost 20 years ago. I can still recall how I thought the mid to upper 80's was the perfect temp. Best thing about riding north out of Cruces on Valley was hitting the Pecan "forest" and how much "cooler" it felt! I loved taking 185 to Hatch, then 187 to Arrey. Jump on 152 over towards Silver City and then down to Deming and back home. Made for a nice days ride. I miss the food from that area....

Yo, Cowboy. As we say here in the South, "It ain't no hill for a stepper like you".
Thanks for your service.

Well it wasn't my idea of a good ride but I just kept saying, if this doesn't inspire them, nothing will. The lightning just about had me pulling off but on a freeway their isn't that many places to go hide. It's funny today but it wasn't yesterday. The kids are now finding out what discipline is and I'm downing a beer though.:) They are actually braver than me or most. I wouldn't serve under this administration if they gave me a million dollars.

Keystone. I have lived in the area for 34 years. I lived in La Mesa, Chope's bar and grill. I am sure you stopped in for food. It has changed the past 20 years but still a nice place. Riding around here is pretty good. Come back for a visit and I will give you a tour of all the new stuff. Jim
