    Default FLRT accessory plug

    Okay, I'm feeling pretty stupid here. What's the deal with the accessory power connector under the left cover? Six positions, four pins. I get ground off the black wire, but nothing off the other three with the ignition in either the on or acc position. I see Harley sells a plug that connects and provides two wires out.. Some kind of voodoo wire crossing? Or am I just an idiot with a multimeter?

    One of those three remaining pins are powered through the P&A 20A fuse. Check the fuse first. The red wire with the blue tracer should have 12 volts.

    I bought a Accessory Connection Harness P/N 69200722 (Instruction Sheet # -J05769) that explains how it's wired.

    I also bought a Switched Circuit Adapter Harness P/N 70264-94A (Instruction Sheet # -J01544) the enables you to install two accessories. However, since I envisioned that I'd be installing more than two accessories, I cannibalized the Deutsch plug parts and built a one-into-four Switched Circuit Adapter Harness with color-coded wiring.

    Yup, not the best in the world though. Black wire in the corner; others, as near as my old trifocaled eyes can see, are red/blue, violet/blue, and green/blue?

    This is the plug that lives at the bottom, under the left side cover.

    Thanks! I need to get the service manuals, just haven't gotten to them yet. Must be the fuse, which is odd since I haven't hit that plug yet... had the multimeter out there today feeling like I was missing something. Just like computers, check the hardware first! I'll report back later.

    I went a step or 5 further. Ran the 12 volts to the trunk, installed a 7.5 volt splitter for radios, MP-3 players and telephone. While I was at it, I also installed a 400 watt, 120 volt inverter. The trunk liner material acts like the 'loop' part of Velcro so the stuff just sticks to it.

    Bingo. Blown fuse, just found it after I got back from an fp3 autotune run. Thanks! And yes, it is the red/blue.

    (later) Well hell. That pin isn't switched. It's always hot. Not what I want, unless I cut the line to the charger and put in a switch :-( But wait... Violet/blue maybe? Yup, violet/blue, as laid out in one of those pdf files mentioned above.*

    2 of the 3 accessories I'VE installed are installed with ON/OFF switches (trunk light and H-D auxiliary lamps, if you care.)

    My third accessory is a 12v wire to a handlebar mount, where I mount my GPS or video camera. I keep those 'live' all the time.

    As you start your accessory search, you'll have to decide where to plug into ~ the HD CAN BUS or direct to the battery. Many H-D heavy-load accessories (like heated accessories) are fused and wired directly to the battery.

    After you start accumulating 12v fuse "warts" attached to the battery, you'll start thinking about an accessory fuse box.

    I had a Y adapter for my 2012 cvo but never used it.
    I bought the HD gps wiring for their gps perch mount. I really like it I might add.
    The 2012 cvo adapter fit the other end of the accessory gps plug. I used the bare wires that is also on it.
    Now I have 2 accessory plugs to use if I need them. This is on my freewheeler.
