Just curious about this...how many riders that use to wear protective riding pants & jacket on a two wheel....still wear the same gear on the trike?

Been riding for 40+ years and on 3 for almost six years now - been NO change in my attire - still feel like all the protection you can have is benificial......
Hmmm, I have been sporting Tommy Bahama's these days.
No change for me either. With one exception: I will not wear shorts on a 2 wheeler period, I will on the trike at times.

I'll take my jacket off on a really hot day. Never would've done that on 2 wheels. Also wear a shorty helmet in the summer.
When I switched from 2 to 3 wheels I didn't change a thing. I don't wear riding pants because it's way too expensive to find some that fit my fat belly and short legs otherwise I would have them too.
No change for us, we wear it all / NO SHORTS EVER / have seen to many skin donors leave it on the pavement / and always a helmet 3/4 size. If you have ever had a wasp fly up those shorts, you can't get them off quick enough.... it only took once and I couldn't count all the stings.... just looked pretty stupid dancing around that Banks Drive Thru with quite an audience at the windows.... they did figure it out when they saw the wife beating my pants on the ground found 4 dead ones and watched 2 fly off Yellow Jackets, little Bastards... sure glad that wasn't a Bank I go to.

Maybe I am a bit naive, although motorcycle safety is in each rider to know their limits, and to ride defensively ( not knowing and predicting anyone else on the road)... I'm still an ATGATT, all of the gear, all of the time. I don't need to remind myself, I should of put that on... That being said, regular blue jeans, armored jacket, 3/4 or full face ( if not to cut down on wind noise) gloves for the weather conditions, windshield ( I know not riding gear but a necessity) proper over the ankle boots, mine are steel toe... Ear plugs, or ear phones, ( noise control ) I ride till the snow falls, so, lined jeans, just not Kevlar... Hope that helps... I have sufficient gear for what the weather suits. I hate hot, but won't risk the safety...
I ride in the same clothes I wear to church or go out to dinner with the missus in except I don't wear a cowboy hat on the trike or my bike; I wear an open face helmet on the trike (full face on my CB1100A), black tee shirt to hide salsa and bbq sauce stains, jeans (I would not be caught dead in shorts in public) and cowboy boots... I do have some sense of style! I wear calfskin roper gloves as well. When I ride solo on my CB1100, I sometimes wear a Joe Rocket jacket with armor in the event I get the boy-racer urge. In the winter I try and find a jacket that doesn't have the zipper popped.

Good risk managers tend to enjoy riding pleasures the longest.
Always a helmet: gotta protect what few brain cells I have left. Full face modular, riding jacket with armor, full finger gloves, lace up boots, heavy denim jeans.
I'm way past the point of trying to look cool or be totally comfortable riding, I'd rather be safe. I've come off several of my bikes over the last 35+ years, it hurt every time. The right gear makes it hurt a little less.

Sure do, at a distance the cager can't tell how many wheels you are riding on.
This subject reminds me of those posts I read hear about the Southwestern riders that ride in 115-120 degrees
saying how ATGATT they are to go 1/4 mile for a loaf of bread...............

Polar Vest Phase Changing Packs will do it.... good for 2 hrs under your jacket, keep an extra set charging in your ice box (in ICE) freezes at 65 degrees, charges in 45 minutes.
ride all day with you, your water bottle and your air conditioned vest under your jacket, and stay dry..... not a wet product....
