    Does anyone have any thoughts on the 259 cams Harley recommends for the 2015?

    I have the 259E cams. Work very well with a stage 4 build. I am very happy with 'em.
    2011 Cool Blue TriGlide with full stage 4, a lotta other upgrades, and a lotta shiny stuff.

    I'm running the HD255 in my 2010 - been a couple of years now-no complaints!

    The 14 and later Rushmore come with cams very similar to the SE255.

    What about the poor fuel, i jus rebuilt the carbs on a ninja and let it set and yep they're fouled again, piss poor gas.

    I figured a good compression on a hawg at 9 to 1 or 9.5 to 1 maybe, with cnc head porting stainless valves roller tip rockers adj pushrods, solid lifters, and a cam to match, oh and a bore job, maybe make a 88 inchers pull a trike, ? maybe, ? jus one Ive got on the table eyeballing, (93flhtc) I still think a v rod would be great, (kill the heat) too bad no lower end, that and the mid range is where i live. best to ya.Name:  trike side shot with v8 hubcap.jpg

    1969 Harley police motor, yep original numbers.`This my trike i built in 1975 4 time show winner with a different paint job, and a hand made box from ash paneling by a cabinet maker, my neighbor, at that time.

    might want to consider a gear change for a 88 inch.
    I ran stock gearing on a trike with a 113. Although it had plenty of power something was a miss, I change the gearing some and wow what a difference. So much smoother and pulls like a tractor.

    For a newer trike, maybe the tts100 cams

    Roller rockers are only needed when you get into the .600 and larger lift cams, most of the bolt in cams people use don't need them.

    Sharp looking trike you have there.

    I have a 2011 trike with the 259e cams. But you need to bump your compression to 10-1. I also have the stage 4 kit minus the bigger throttle body. They didn't offer that in 2011. I have the SE ported and polished heads. V&H Power Dualls and High Output Mufflers. Do not put stock lifters in with this set up. They left the stock ones in when they built the motor and it trashed the lifters , rear cam and oil pump. So what did the idiots do, put in stock lifters again. Same thing happened again. I took it to and Indepentent that used to own this dealership and he rebuilt it with S&S bottom end,bored the jugs 5 over, put Competion cam lifters in and SE oil pump again with a special relief valve in the pump and now at idle it runs about 15-20lbs of oil pressure. No problems with the motor now. I have 100hp and 108lbs torq.

    Thank you kind sir, built from 75 to 77, custom box and paint at that time, 4 time show winner. 14yrs in hibernation, now out and went back an pulled the 4spd and put a Sputhe 5spd tranny in her, then the Bendix took a dive, this weekend fix it, then off the table to test it for a bit, then short rides till i trust the process. Living proof they're never done.

    Ive built about six in the meantime and thinking of one more, want a bat wing fairing trike with all the bells, for myself, save the street-glide for 2whlr days or trike it, and build the 88 to ride on occasion.

    I have a nice softail fat-boy to trade for a 3whlr conversion for the street-glide, or jus sell it for $6,000. I had 11 harleys and sold most of them, gonna bring it down to just 3 i think, 2 trikes and a daily driver, touring or ? time will tell. Best to ya from downtown cowtown.

    Im liking that oil pump pressure, bought my 07 streeglide, was sick for 30 days then rode it first time and broke oil pump in 4 pieces, Harley say so sorry charlie, uncle jims cycle shop, called feller he knew at the bowels of Harley and got me a new engine for free, for free!!!, sun shines on a dogs azz in Texas now an then. Independent shop did what the stealer refused to do.

    I hate no pressure when hot at idle, learn sumpn new everyday. I will check it out. Thanks
