Are high gas prices making you drive your trike more, less or doesnt matter?

Meant to do a poll. Will try to re-do it.

I really don't know if it is making me drive the trike more. But it is not making me drive it any less. I now drive it to work when I can.

don't think i bought that trike to save gas...to save gas would have bought one of them there scooooter's.."ONLY A BIKER KNOWS WHY A DOG HANGS IT'S HEAD OUT THE WINDOW"

VANCE IN GA.

Truck - 18 MPG. Was a daily driver when gas was $1.25, now it pretty much sits in the garage until something wants to be hauled. It's paid off, and I use it enough to justify keeping it.

Wife's Honda Element - about 25MPG. Not very good for a 4-banger, but it does have the aerodynamics of a brick. Luckily she doesn't have but a 2 or 3 mile commute.

Geo Prism - 31MPG at the last time I checked. My cummute car, 28 miles one way to work.

Trike - 35 MPG, usually 2 up, drops to about 25-28 pulling a loaded Bunkhouse and running 70 - 75 mph on trips, just over 30mpg if I can keep under 3,000 rpm. Goes to work occasionally, but mostly on rides 2-up, and longer trips.

Harley (2 wheels) - 50 mpg, a little more if I keep the speed under 65. I take this to work every chance I get, and 75% of the rides without the wife along.

Strangely enough,(or maybe not) the trike and the Harley both have gotten
about 7,000 miles per year since we got Her Purpleness 4 years ago. I have always put that on the Harley, but Gloria didn't ride as much when she had The Blue Trike. We now take more longer trips together on the trike. Can't wait until we can retire and rack up some serious miles.

Would agree that while it's no fun having the price continue to go up and up, still need to do the things that must get done, and right now a new car/truck is not in the plans, thus ride on.

As for the trike, there is no way I plan to alter the trips that we have set up for this riding season. Just too much fun and enjoy meeting all the folks that we have met while on the road.

gas

Driving the trike much more now to save gas. The old F-150 gets 13-15 MPG and isn't nearly the fun.

GL1800 Motor Trike....42 mpg
2007 Maxima ....28mpg
2004 F-150....18mpg
2005 Nissan Z Car...25 mpg
2002 Honda Magna 57 mpg

I still ride the trike most of the time. I intend to ride or drive wherever and whenever I desire but I don't take a car or truck unless I have a need to.

The gas prices are high here in Wisconsin but I'll still drive my Trike, Boat, Cars and Truck.
Summer is the time to enjoy and gas isn't going to stop the fun this year. Next year, who knows!!

I always ride the trike whenever I can. I have a scooter that gets 80 mpg but the wife rides that to work so I am forced to take the trike :D What a punishment.:D

i ride my trike just as much now as i ever did..as far as driving my car. iv'e got a 97 lincoln town car thats getting 25 mpg so when it's ugly weather and i need to go somewhere it does'nt break me to drive it. only thing that hurts is when i fill that car up it takes me about 75 dollars. now my work van is a different story. it gets 6 to 8 mpg. and i normally go threw a 150.00 bucks worth of gas a day. glad i'm not feeding that thing.
