    Hi,

I'm looking to buy a stallion this coming spring, I was really happy when I came across your posting of the owners manual. I really enjoyed reading through it. It helped to ease my mind for when I do buy one.

    Thank you for posting this,

Thanks for this posting, Ted. It's nice to have this information at one's finger tips vs having to go to where I have my Stallion is garaged at. My manual is kept with my Stallion at all times as I suspect most owners do as well.

    Greg,

I'm thinking about selling mine and its transport trailer, by mid July of this year. It's an '09 Candy Apple Red. Trailer is an '11 Aluma TK1. If interested, PM me and I'll respond with more details and pictures.

Hi Kristina, welcome aboard. I no longer have the Stallion. I will try and see if I can find the files I made back then. What are the issues you are trying to deal with?

I think I've traced one issue down to the fact that I don't have coded keys, just keys a locksmith made. My parents, prior to passing, put both set of motorcycle keys where neither my sister or I can find them. When I called a someone about them they said just get a locksmith to recreate the keys. But sometimes it doesn't want to start with the keys. I got stranded a few weeks ago because of it. But by the time the tow got us home it started again (new battery and the tech checked the fuses and everything before we opted 2 hrs later to just tow it an hour home)

But not it refused to shift out of park unless I push a silvery button behind the gear shift? (Note: I know almost nothing about vehicles and terms. ) But if I want to leave somewhere I have to lift the hood, push the button, shift and then close the hood. I tried to explain this to a motorcycle mechanic, because a car mechanic refuses to touch the trike, and he said he had no idea other than maybe some safety switch or something?

My local Ford dealer won't touch the trike either?

(As preface, the trike sat for 4 years during the time we were dealing with the estates for my mom and dad. So things have had to be replaced. I got a local shop to replace the radiator, they capped off a hose I don't know where it went and redid the brake light wiring because a mouse chewed thru it. But they refused to do any other work on it) I also need to replace the headlights as all I have are the bottom running lights and brights. And the left turn signal front and back aren't working either. And I don't know what parts to get to replace those...

Sorry this is so long 😓

On the starting issue, I know this sounds crazy, but make sure the steering wheel is NOT in the full up position. There is a release lever on the left side where you can adjust the up and down position. Early on, there were a number of owners who encountered problems with the steering wheel being all the way up. Happened to me once. Hope this helps.

keys are not coded. the silver button you are talking about is the brake lockout. the brake has to be depressed and power going the light circuit activates the solenoid (silver button) allowing the gear shift to move out of park. the drive train and most of the electronics are ford 2007 ranger

It doesn't seem to matter how hard I push the brake. What position the brake is in. It won't shift into gear unless I press that button. One of the people who towed the trike (it's been towed about 4 times in 6 months) broke the little white thing in the hole under the gear shift. So that doesn't help shit, it's gotten stuck in the space of the button once already.

I thought I read in the manual that the keys were coded and that there was a safety system?

    SECURILOCK TMPASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM

SecuriLock" passive anti-theft system is an engine

immobilization system. This system is designed to help prevent

the engine from being started unless a coded key

programmed to your vehicle is used. The use of the wrong

type of coded key may lead to a "no-start" condition.

if the brake switch is not working then the solenoid will not activate. and i have had a stallion for 13 years and the key is not coded. the brake switch is mounted on the front of the master cylinder which is accessed from under the trike in front of the rear axle left side.

I'm glad they're not coded then, that's one less thing to stress about.

The brakes work fine when engaged... Would the switch me faulty if it still brakes?

Yes, the brakes will work fine. Have you checked you brake lights? I had a bad switch on mine. It was under the body on the left side about half way between the brake pedal and the rear tire. You may also have a problem with the ignition switch block. It's a whitish color on top of the steering column in the engine compartment. I had a bad one of these also. All these parts are made to be out of the weather, so some of them have problems. Rick

According to the mechanic I was able to breifly get to work on it ,the one to replace the radiator, he said he had to rewire the brake lights because a mouse had eaten through them. I've called and asked if he'd work on the trike again and he said no. He is for cars only. ¯\_༼ ಥ ‿ ಥ ༽_/¯I've watched the little ignition switch block while turning the key, I see it moving. But that doesn't mean I might not be missing something on that. But I have noticed a vast difference in the number of times it turns on now that I've changed the steering wheel position. It was in the fully upright position prior to the suggestion of changing it. So, here's hoping that was the issue there. How difficult would it be to work on the brake thing for someone who knows absolutely nothing about cars/vehicles/motorcycle mechanics? As much as I joke with my husband about it being a fantastic anti theft device (because the theif wouldn't know about pushing the little button under the hood) it is very difficult for me to continue to push the button myself.
