Trike Mid Step on my front porch last evening...

Yesterday evening I looked out on the porch and saw a bit of a surprise. The Trike Mid Step that I had ordered a day earlier was there. The tracking said it wasn't supposed to arrive until today! USPS for the win!! You won't EVER see the brown truck deliver anything a day early.

Anyhow, I'm a little excited. I'm going to install them today, Lord willing and the creeks don't rise. I bought them for my daughter who is special needs and has a very difficult time getting onto the trike. I usually have to lift her. She weighs almost 90 lbs now, and is growing, so old daddy's back and shoulders are getting a test every time we ride.

Also, I believe they will make it easier for me to get on as well, if the videos are right.

I plan on posting pics of the surgery, if I can figure out how to from my iPhone. I might even post a video of my daughter getting on and off the bike first without, then with the Mid-Step. We will see.

First off, let's just say I'm a doofus. I managed to screw up something that should be totally simple. I got it together (mostly). I'll be back later with some pics after I sleep for awhile.

I'll have to say that for me, getting on and off the trike is a whole lot easier. I just step up, then across the seat. Easy peasy. I don't have to hike my leg up so high that it hurts anymore. Same with getting off. I just plant my feet on the steps on each side and stand up, step over, and I'm off. It's very steady. No slop or movement whatsoever. No more dragging my leg across.

I like it really well. And I thought I was just buying it for my daughter.

Not as of yet. It's been too cold to take her outside to try. Later this week it should warm up, and I plan on getting video of her climbing on.

Took me awhile to figure out how to get a photo from my iPhone to here without having to upload it to my home computer. More pics will follow once we get back from Chicago.

Helped my daughter climb on and off yesterday. Once she got the hang of it and realized how to place her feet, she was climbing aboard mostly by herself. I was holding her hands for balance, but that was it. I wasn't having to support any weight, or do any lifting. She was squealing and making the sign for motorcycle like crazy, so as a reward for doing so well, I took her on a short ride up and down our street a few times.

I had my wife climb on and off, and she was very pleased. She gave me a kiss and said, "You did good for once."

She absolutely loves riding. I confused her by making her get on the bike, then right back off. Took her a short ride right after conclusion of video.

She was very happy.

I think the Mid Step people owe you your money back....or at least some commission. Your story and video probably just sold a truckload of steps! Wonderful story!
