Went for a nice long ride today. Eighty degrees in November in NC. The seat killed me. Gonna have to get something softer for sure, and that will let me sit back more. Dang New Guy post anyway............

Been through the seats on my FW. The stock seat that came on the bike was terrible, more so for the wife. Put on a Sundowner seat for the FW. Much better for the wife but not much for me. Took the Sundowner seat to a shop and had a gel pad put in it. Better but not the answer. Seat still bottomed out on sharp bumps. Bought a Mustang seat as soon as they were available for the FW (had Mustang seats on other motorcycles and loved them). Huge improvement. I am a happy triker now. Hopefully other seat manufacturers will come out with seats for the FW. I had an Ultimate seat on my Victory Cross Country Tour and really liked it also but so far Mustang is my choice.

I have found that the underware I use makes a huge difference in comfort. Jockey microfiber performance sport mid-way briefs have NO SEAMS and make riding in jeans a pleasure. These cover down to a few inches above my knees so no seams are pinching off circulation.

When I ordered the Mustang seat I asked them about the position and they said it was the same as the original seat. It seems to be. Mustang does offer a seat that places you closer to the bars so be sure to order the standard seat. So far I am very happy with the comfort of the seat.
