    Default Camping

How many ride trikes and pull a camp trailer or camp while traveling? My wife and I camp most of the time when we travel. Been doing this a long time with a bike.I have not pulled camper with the trike yet, but will when spring is here and it warms up.

The wife & I have not camped from the trike. Many many moons ago, I camped from my Yamaha 650 and a Yamaha XS1100. Just a bed-roll (tarp & blanket) water bottle, coffee pot & Folgers. It surprises folks when they learn all the places to camp, free, in Tx, Ok & Ks back then.

The wife says I/we won't be so spartan this time. We have our camping gear from summer trips, tent, bags, mats and cooking stuff. We could throw it all in the trailer and be ready. In the mean-time, I've been looking at several pop-up camp trailers, perusing the forums for opinions.... (hint, hint...)

We do stay in hotels from time to time.if we are traveling and stop late, and getting up early to get on the road many times we stay in hotel for the night .
We enjoy camping ,we like being able to be outside and enjoy a campfire and do some of our own cooking when on the road.My wife and I feel pinned up in a hotel room and limited on what we can do.

Motocamper forum has a lot of info on camping trailers. We have a aspen sentry and like it.There are several brand campers for motocamping and each have there good points. You just have to pick what works best for your needs.I like the leasure lite real well and if I was going to buy another, that would be it.However I am thinking I may build my next camper.I want a hard sided camper that folds out and is lite weight.Nothing on the market I know of.Aliner made a alite a few years ago ,but stopped making it.

Is that a bunk house? They make a fine rig, I went with the Time Out cause we have some critters here that may or may not climb in with ya ... The Time Out is all off the ground ... probably won't keep them out, but makes me feel better about them ...

From looking at their sites, I like the Leesure Lite and the Bunkhouse campers. The dressing area is large and the floor is on the ground. I understand Fuzzy's reasoning for the raised floor, but am concerned on the durability and weight rating. If the wife & I were both on the raised floor, that's about 450# with bags and other stuff. I just don't know if 3/4" plywood would stand up to it for any length of time.

Leesurelite is hard to find down here (being Canadian), and I see many more Bunkhouse trailers than any other. And yeah, we got scorpions, tarantulas, rattlesnakes.... etc.

Road Master: I have had a Leisure Lite trailer for 6 or 7 years and love it. I have
the wider version, using a full size air mattress, I pull it with a Goldwing Trike, 1800, 35 to 38 MPG. Also pull it with a 2013 Stallion, slightly less MPG. Pulls really well, and it goes from towed to ready to sleep in about a minute. Really goes up quick. I put the wider tires on it, and you can load up the top with lots of stuff.

I ride an 06 Gold Wing with a Motor Trike conversion - I pull an '08 Lees-ure Lite.

Love the camper; been all over with it- it (IMHO) is the best camper on the market

    Hi,

Just converted my bike to a trike last month, November 2017. I have pulled a camper trailer behind my motorcycle since 2011 or so. Love the lifestyle. Here's a pic of my 2015 Road Glide Special Roadsmith Trike Conversion with a Time-Out Camper.
