Great to hear from you! Hope you will be able to stop by my place on your next trip to the US. We really enjoyed your company last time you were here!
hello everyone...wow how time flies .. its been a while since i logged in here. still have the trike i bought in the USA back in 2013. still riding bikes and trikes almost 365 days a year. sitting here sweating it out on another sub tropical evening.
got hit in the face (open face helmet) by a pigeon while riding at 100mph. got 2 black eyes, a split cheek. and a front tooth about to fall out. lucky i didnt get knocked out.
trike is still running well. although it is on the sell list to finance the next USA and Canada tour which a group of us Aussies are planning. we originally thought it would be 2016 but will now be 2017. and im excited and cant wait already. so far 6 are definite starters 3 male 3 female. all riders. with quite a few keen but not committed yet.
the trike scene here is growing. and there are regular trike group rides in my area now.
the crazy politician that decided all bike riders were criminals has been voted out of power and into history but the police are still targeting anyone who isnt in a car. its all about revenue raising.. theres no money in catching thieves and murderers and the likes but riders can be fined.. so everyone who rides is still feeling like a target. still its a beautiful place to live and ride and we need to be greatfull for our blessings.

I'm like an old race horse..... I can still run the race -- Just ache more at the finish line and need more rest between outings.
It's good to hear from you, Jeff. I've been wondering how you've been doing. I think the bird made out worse than you did...

Hi Jeff, I know what you mean about not being on TT for a while, I haven't been around much myself.
this may be a dumb question, BUT, what do you mean about a "full licence"? I'm thinking it may mean the same as many states here, called motorcycle qualified or something like that.
sorry to hear you won't make it back to the states in 2016, but I hope to meet up with you when you do make it back!
our bike licence system varies from state to state, but in general with bikes first you get a learners permit which allows you to ride a bike not more than 650cc with a low power to weight ratio.. this means in general that any 650cc bikes that are approved are governed down in power so they are about the same as riding a 250cc. but only in the presence of a ride with a full licence..
next step is an RE class licence same bike restrictions, but you can ride alone in daylight hours, and cant have a pillion passenger. you must have an RE licence for one year before you can go for the full licence test, and ride any type of bike..
so even though a trike is an easy option to learn to ride on (as you cant fall off) it isnt legal as they are over 650cc
oh and BTW 650cc is about 40 cubic inches
I've gotta ask... where was that picture taken?
Good to see ya here again. Sorry bout the accident and split. Hoping you are recovering well. RIDE SAFE

A pigeon? Ouch. Did it at least taste like chicken?
Glad you survived. Enjoy the wind, but only hum songs. Never, ever sing full out with mouth open. Don't ask how I know.
Glad the pigeon didn't eat your lunch. (can't believe I said that) Glad your doing okay and welcome back to the forum and an early welcome here to the good ole US of A ... hopefully we'll still be here in 2017 ...
